Daredevil is one of Marvel Comics’ best street-level heroes, with the character’s mainstream appeal boosted by the superb 2015 TV series. The sequel series, Daredevil: Born Again, is earning similar praise and reigniting his relevance in the MCU. That makes now as good a time as any to look at the collected edition comics that have been published recently and will be released this year.
The Man Without Fear inarguably has one of the most consistently high-quality storylines in Marvel’s comics. That’s reflected in the character’s backlog, and fans can look forward to collected editions of classics and contemporary series. From collections of the Disney+ TV series’ namesake Born Again from Frank Miller to Chip Zdarsky’s beloved modern Daredevil run, fans are spoiled for choice in 2025.

Daredevil: Born Again Marvel Premier Collection is a Timely Reprint
Frank Miller’s Born Again Remains One of Daredevil’s Narrative Milestones
Frank Miller revitalized Daredevil’s comics when he took over writing and illustrating duties. The Daredevil: Born Again story arc arrived deep into his tenure in the main comic book series, and longtime fans have been singing its praises in the decades since. Marvel published the “Marvel Premier Collection” of Born Again in February 2025, featuring an introduction by Miller reflecting on the story’s significance and even a foreword by actor Charlie Cox offering insight into the comic’s influence on his live-action portrayal.
Born Again sees Karen Page sell Daredevil’s identity in desperation, making its way up the organized crime chain until it reaches the worst person possible — Kingpin. What follows is a dismantling of Matt Murdock’s life from the inside out with surgical precision, pushing the hero to his psychological limits. Supported by David Mazzucchelli’s (who worked with Miller on Batman: Year One) grounded, gritty artwork to complement the crime-drama atmosphere, Born Again is an exceptional deconstruction and reconstruction of Matt’s character.

Daredevil Epic Collection: To Dare the Devil Has Miller’s Early Issues
Miller’s Early Days Helped Set the Tone for Daredevil for Decades to Come

Even before the seminal Born Again arc, Frank Miller’s earlier issues on the series are well worth reading today. He began by illustrating the closing issues of Roger McKenzie before taking up the writing and pencils, which are collected in Daredevil Epic Collection: To Dare the Devil. This collected edition is due out in the fall of 2025, and it contains some of the building blocks that have shaped Daredevil’s modern history.
After finishing McKenzie’s last scripts, Daredevil Epic Collection: To Dare the Devil shows how Miller brings an element of film noir and street-level grit to the Man Without Fear’s world. That pulpy, crime-drama atmosphere is felt in Daredevil media today, from the recently concluded Chip Zdarsky run, the ongoing Saladin Ahmed stint, and even the current MCU TV series Daredevil: Born Again. Frank Miller even created Marvel’s iconic assassin Elektra, as well as the villainous organization known as The Hand.

Daredevil by Nocenti & Romita Jr. Omnibus is a Long Time Coming
Hard-Hitting Themes & a New Villain Make this Daredevil Run Iconic

Not long after Miller’s run, writer Ann Nocenti would helm a terrific Daredevil run in its own right, spanning over four years. She would eventually be joined by prolific Marvel artist John Romita Jr., which is finally being collected in omnibus format this year. In Daredevil by Nocenti & Romita Jr. Omnibus Vol. 1, Matt Murdock must face off against Typhoid Mary, who’s now a classic member of his rogues gallery, as well as a shift in his legal career.

Daredevil: Born Again officially brings the Netflix series and the MCU together, but its place in the timeline is still difficult to pin down.
Ann Nocenti is one of the most important writers in Daredevil’s history, tackling themes of social inequality and more. This is partly thanks to exploring this new side of Matt’s law-abiding day job running a non-profit legal center. Suffering from dissociative identity disorder, the pyrokinetic Typhoid Mary makes for a deadly new rogue, adding a new layer to the Daredevil/Kingpin rivalry while being a fascinating character on her terms as well.

Daredevil by Charles Soule Omnibus Will Be a Topical Read
This Daredevil Run Influenced Key Story Elements of Disney+’s Born Again

While it was released a few years ago, Daredevil by Charles Soule Omnibus will be timely in 2025 for interested fans also watching Born Again on Disney+. The book collects the entirety of Soule and artist Ron Garney’s run on the main Daredevil series, introducing a new supporting character and a gruesome villain. Matt takes on a trainee in Blindspot—Sam Chung—and together, they find themselves on the bloody trail of serial killer Muse.
Charles Soule and Ron Garney’s Daredevil run may be tonally jarring, as the sudden return to street-level darkness contrasts with the intense but comparatively swashbuckling atmosphere of Mark Waid’s preceding stint. Even so, this collection is still plenty compelling on its own. Muse quickly makes an impact as a top-notch Daredevil rogue, and the eventual Mayor Fisk arc is an exciting way to elevate Kingpin and the Man Without Fear’s rivalry to another level.

Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky Omnibus Vol. 1 & 2 Are Modern Hits
The Recent Zdarsky Daredevil Run is a Character Journey & Great Starting Point

Making the turmoil of Matt Murdock’s multifaceted life intriguing is difficult, considering the decades of earlier stories. However, writer Chip Zdarsky manages just that with a narratively accessible yet thoughtful run that explores the inner conflict of being Daredevil. Since December 2024, fans can now collect the whole run in Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky Omnibus Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. This run is backed by the exceptional artwork of Marco Checchetto, with his sleek, modern style matching the characters, the setting, and the redesigned Daredevil suit perfectly.
Zdarsky’s time in the series runs the gamut from ground-level action in Hell’s Kitchen to a globetrotting war against the mystical side of Daredevil’s rogue gallery. However, it’s a great jumping-on point for new fans coming from the original TV show and Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again. The consequences of Matt’s vigilante life and figures of his past return in full force, but the story beats and character dynamics are introduced organically to avoid alienating newcomers.

Devil’s Reign Omnibus is a Daredevil Crossover Event
Kingpin’s Initiative May Influence Future Daredevil: Born Again Arcs

For fans enjoying the Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto run on the flagship Daredevil series, picking up the Devil’s Reign Omnibus is a great companion piece. Much like Vincent D’Onofrio’s version of Kingpin in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again, the core story arc in this book sees Wilson Fisk target superheroes at large. It also follows the spin-off materials from the perspective of other Marvel heroes, in addition to the six-issue Devil’s Reign miniseries by Zdarsky and Checchetto.

The Devil’s Reign Omnibus is a great pickup for fans of superhero crossover events and those wanting to read the full scope of Kingpin’s shocking city-wide assault. The main series features the likes of Captain America, She-Hulk, and Spider-Man, in addition to Matt’s allies among the Defenders. It’s a Daredevil crossover arc, fundamentally, but readers can expect to see how these ripple effects bleed into characters like the X-Men, Spider-Woman, Moon Knight, and more.

Daredevil: Unleash Hell – Red Band Spotlights Elektra
Matt’s Complicated Love Interest is The Woman Without Fear

How Elektra came to take up the Daredevil mantle is one of the most refreshing story beats from Zdarsky and Checchetto’s run. With even more experience under Elektra’s belt, writer Erica Schultz and artist Valentina Pinti give her another welcome solo in Daredevil: Unleash Hell – Red Band. At the time of writing, the series is currently on its third issue, with the collected trade paperback due in fall 2025. Elektra continues her role as The Woman Without Fear parallel to Matt’s Daredevil, and something gruesome is brewing in Hell’s Kitchen.
A string of occult occurrences and gory killings have been spotted across the city, pointing to the return of Muse. Unleash Hell – Red Band certainly comes at a convenient time, with the villain’s MCU debut in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. Brand synergy aside, this limited series is proving to be another gripping outing for Elektra, adding to the Daredevil mythos and doing justice to the character behind the mask.

Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale: Daredevil is Set in the Wake of Tragedy
Daredevil: Yellow Unravels the Aftermath of the Shocking Guardian Devil

Veteran comic book creators Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale (of Batman: The Long Halloween fame) created one of Daredevil’s most moving story arcs with Yellow. The story is set after the events of the earth-shattering Guardian Devil arc by Kevin Smith, Joe Quesada, and Jimmy Palmiotti, which saw the murder of Karen Page at Bullseye’s hand. Loeb and Sale’s story has been most recently reprinted in March 2025 as Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale: Daredevil.
Smith’s story arc is simultaneously praised and controversial for its punishing treatment of Karen Page, but Daredevil: Yellow navigates its aftermath tactfully. The story and its opening are framed by Matt writing a letter to the late Karen in an exercise for processing grief. It’s a brilliant and emotionally poignant way to unpack such a devastating loss, exploring Matt’s origins as Daredevil, losing his father, and his romance with Karen. Yellow is the perfect tonal balance of vibrancy (honoring Stan Lee and Bill Everett’s run) with melancholy.

Daredevil by Bendis & Maleev Omnibus Vol. 1 & 2 Surpass Even Miller’s Run
Crime Noir Fans Will Find This Daredevil Run Atmospheric

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen has enjoyed plenty of excellent storylines in the years since Frank Miller and Klaus Janson. However, writer Brian Bendis and artist Alex Maleev’s tenure is arguably the only one to surpass it. Coming early in the ’00s, the duo’s run raised the bar once again for the hero, chronicling some of the most consequential events in Matt Murdock’s life since Born Again and Kevin Smith’s Guardian Devil.

Fans can thankfully read this run through more readily available reprints of Daredevil by Bendis & Maleev Omnibus Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Bendis has experience writing crime-noir stories before his time on Daredevil, and that shows in spades through this run, complemented by Maleev’s profoundly moody and atmospheric artwork. With Matt’s identity crisis involving the FBI, targeted attacks on his personal life, and Hell’s Kitchen’s uncontrollable underworld, not many runs have portrayed Daredevil’s encounters with his rogues or the extremes of his darker impulses in such visceral fashion.

Daredevil Modern Era Epic Collection: The Devil in Cell-Block D Follows Bendis
The Follow-Up to Bendis & Maleev’s Run Puts Daredevil in a Corner

Writer Ed Brubaker and artist Michael Lark did an impressive job of picking up the baton from Bendis and Maleev’s acclaimed run. The latter left Matt Murdock in dire straits even by his usual standards, and Brubaker and Lark kept the momentum strong. While this run is available in a two-volume omnibus format, Marvel is releasing the first arc in its Epic Collection line of comics.
Releasing in summer 2025 as the Daredevil Modern Era Epic Collection: The Devil in Cell-Block D, the titular storyline depicts Matt Murdock behind bars in Ryker’s Island. This arc manages to ramp up the stakes without resorting to simple shock value, depicting Matt as genuinely out of his element. Throwing the troubled hero in a prison filled with villains—and a certain vengeful antihero—he had locked up made the tension palpable and the setting like a proper viper’s nest.
