The following contains spoilers for Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 19, “Betrayal”.
Dragon Ball DAIMA may have gotten off to a slow start, but its climax is shaping up to be historic. The series is pulling out all the stops with Goku’s latest adventure, making for a fitting send-off for series creator Akira Toriyama as the last piece of Dragon Ball media he directly worked on. From Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta to Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Dragon Ball DAIMA has been full of memorable moments the fandom will never forget.
On the other hand, the anime is also ripe with nuanced lore drops and subtle mentions that could even slip the most diehard fan’s mind. These plot threads may have seemed inconsequential at the time, but it all could easily come to a head in Dragon Ball DAIMA’s finale in a major way. There are still a lot of unanswered questions to consider ahead of Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 20, and some vital details that fans need to keep in mind as they watch the climactic final battle.

Gomah’s Evil Third Eye Makes Him Apparently Unstoppable – But It Has a Weakness
The Tertian Oculus Can Only Be Removed By Hitting Its User on the Back of the Head Three Times
Throughout Dragon Ball DAIMA‘s early episodes, Gomah appeared to be the weakest villain in the series. He was constantly being outdone by the heroes, and was nowhere near strong enough to fight Goku or the other Z Fighters. That all changed when he received the Evil Third Eye. Using the legendary Tertian Oculus, Gomah can repeatedly power-up to match the strength of any enemy. Goku has undergone multiple power-ups throughout their fight, and everyone has been matched and exceeded by Gomah almost instantly.
As Arinsu discovered in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 19, there is one potential way to defeat Gomah. By knocking him on the back of the head three times, the Third Eye will be forced out of Gomah’s forehead, returning him back to his normal state. Now that Piccolo and Goku have devised a plan to join forces to catch Gomah off guard, it may end up being Piccolo that deals the final three blows to remove the Eye from King Gomah.

Goku’s Group Has Technically Already Completed Their Mission
Glorio’s Wish Turned Goku and His Friends Back Into Their Correct Ages

When Goku initially went to the Demon Realm in pursuit of Gomah it was only for two reasons. First, to rescue Dende, who had been kidnapped by Gomah and Degesu. Second, to get the Demon Realm Dragon Balls and wish for all the Z Fighters to be turned back into adults. As of Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 19, both of those goals have already been achieved.

Dragon Ball DAIMA’s Super Saiyan 4 Goku Proves GT Is Non-Canon Once and for All
Dragon Ball DAIMA canonized GT’s most popular concept, SSJ4, but it also proved GT will never be part of Toriyama’s canonical story in the process.
At this point, the entire fight against Gomah from here on is not about anything other than protecting the Demon Realm and its inhabitants from a fearsome and brutal ruler in King Gomah. Goku and his friends have already achieved both their initial goals, though that doesn’t mean they have no skin in the game if Gomah wins. They’ve all seen the result Gomah’s terrible policies have had on the Second and Third Demon Worlds, and Goku has made many friends throughout his travels whose fates ride on whether the Z Fighters are victorious.

Medi Bugs Could Be a Game-Changer for the Heroes
A Fusion Isn’t Out of the Cards For DAIMA’s Finale

Medi Bugs are one of the coolest new Demon Realm concepts introduced in Dragon Ball DAIMA. Functioning like something out of an RPG, Medi Bugs have all different types of functions and effects on a person that consumes one of them. Some Medi Bugs can heal status ailments and even entirely heal wounds just like a Senzu Bean. The most interesting Medi Bug by far is the Join Bug, which has the power to fuse fighters into one, similar to the Potara Earrings or Fusion Dance. The biggest difference between Join Bugs and other fusion types in Dragon Ball is they Join Bugs can combine more than two fighters, meaning that potentially several martial artists could fuse into one super-powerful new warrior.
Unfortunately, just as the fight against Gomah got underway in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 17, Goku accidentally dropped his bag of Medi Bugs. While they seemed to have slipped into the dark abyss below, there’s really no telling where Goku’s Medi Bugs actually ended up. What’s more, considering he has a whole group of Demon Realm allies, including Panzy’s father and now Dr Arinsu, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that someone else has access to their own Medi Bugs they’ve been holding out on the group. Medi Bugs, and Join Buts in particular, could still end up playing a vital role in the final battle against Gomah in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 20.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta Still Shouldn’t Exist
SSJ3 Vegeta Created a Major Plot Hole Which Needs to Be Resolved in the Finale

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta has stolen the spotlight in Dragon Ball DAIMA not once, but twice, as of Episode 20. Vegeta’s first big Super Saiyan 3 debut was truly a turning point in the anime as it got fans excited in a way no episode had before it. Additionally, adult SSJ3 Vegeta’s big unveiling in Episode 19 was a likewise monumental moment that also helped that episode achieve the highest rating of any anime episode of the year so far (at least until it was review bombed in the following week).
With all the hype around Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta, it can be easy to forget that this form should not even exist for the Saiyan Prince. Vegeta was never shown using SSJ3 in Dragon Ball Super, and even seemed to actively forgo the form in the Beerus Saga. Dragon Ball DAIMA’s final episode will be expected to provide some simple explanation as to why Vegeta never uses Super Saiyan 3 again in later arcs in the Dragon Ball timeline, hopefully fixing at least one apparent inconsistency with Dragon Ball Super.

Glorio’s True Relationship With Arinsu Has Only Been Hinted At
Arinsu and Glorio Still Have Some Issues To Work Through in DAIMA’s Finale
Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 19 was a big moment for Glorio. His betrayal of the Z Fighters became clear, while his ultimate betrayal of Arinsu came to light. It was a rollercoaster moment for Dragon Ball DAIMA’s most mysterious hero, but it did at least result in him definitively becoming one of the heroes in the end. Perhaps most interestingly, Arinsu revealed a notable aspect of Glorio’s personal backstory.

Had Akira Toriyama ended the original run of the Dragon Ball manga as early as he would have liked, the entire franchise would look very different.
According to Arinsu, she had rescued Glorio from apparent poverty in the Third Demon World, and given him work as her personal mercenary in the First Demon World. This was something Glorio greatly appreciated, and he even expressed as much to Arinsu in Episode 19. Still, there’s a lot that’s unclear about Glorio’s past, such as why he needed to be saved from the Third Demon World to begin with, and what exactly his role was for Arinsu other than in her plan to fool the Z Fighters.

Super Saiyan 4 Was Only Possible Thanks to Neva
Goku Probably Won’t Be Able to Use SSJ4 After DAIMA’s Finale

Super Saiyan 4 Goku was Dragon Ball DAIMA’s biggest unveil by far. While every Dragon Ball fan knows that SSJ4 is now officially canon to the main DB storyline, there’s still a lot of uncertainty behind how it works. That uncertainty was further amplified in when it was revealed that Goku can still transform into a SSJ4 as an adult as of Episode 20. While adult Super Saiyan 4 Goku looks awesome, the overall mechanism behind this new form is still a huge enigma.
All that’s known for certain about Super Saiyan 4 is that Goku was essentially gifted the form by Neva, leading to some major potential limitations. It’s possible that Goku will only be able to use the form while he still has some of Neva’s remaining magic power flowing through his body, or it could be that Neva caused a reaction with the atmosphere of the Demon Realm itself. Just like with Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta, there’s a huge unanswered plot hole as to why Goku can’t use this transformation on Super, so Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 20 will have a lot of information to provide fans if it has any intention of remaining consistent with the rest of the franchise.

Majilite is The Most Valuable Substance in the Demon Realm For a Reason
Dragon Ball DAIMA First Introduced Majilite in Episode 13, “Surprise”

Majilite is a magical crystal that forms naturally in the Demon Realm. It grows in between the Demon Worlds, separating them from one another and shining like a bright, clear sky when certain minerals interact with it. Majilite is especially important because it powers many of the vehicles and tools of the Demon Realm, making it almost like the Majin equivalent of natural gas in the real world. While Majilite was initially mentioned and explained by Panzy to Bulma in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 13, it hasn’t been seen or mentioned since.
Majilite is a vital renewable resource that’s central to the power dynamics of the Demon Realm, so it’s not something that is likely to just be a one-off deal. Even if Panzy and Bulma don’t somehow utilize Majilite in the final battle (which is definitely possible), it wouldn’t be surprising to see it make some kind of return in the narrative in Dragon Ball DAIMA’s final episode. Panzy did promise Bulma she’d get her father to steal her some after their adventure was finished, so that may very well be a closing moment the two share in Episode 20.

Shin is a Glind Who Was Born in the Demon Realm
The Supreme Kai’s Familial Bonds Will Definitely Be Important in DAIMA’s Finale

Dragon Ball DAIMA has been a constant onslaught of huge lore reveals related to the Demon Realm. It’s now known that the Demon Realm itself has way more influence on the rest of the outside Universe than it ever seemed to have before. Of particular note is the fact that the gods of the Dragon Ball Universe, the Kai, are all actually demons originating from the Demon Realm. The Kai are actually a demonic race called Glinds, who left the Demon Realm long ago during a time of turmoil. However, not all Glinds left the Demon Realm behind.

Goku’s complex relationship with killing in Dragon Ball doesn’t truly begin until he meets Raditz.
While Shin, the Supreme Kai of Universe 7 did leave many years before the events of Dragon Ball, his two siblings, Degesu and Arinsu, stayed behind. As of Episode 19, Degesu was captured and arrested by the Gendarmerie for betraying King Gomah, while Arinsu joined forces with the heroes in an attempt to bring Gomah down once and for all. Shin’s identity as a Glind and his relationship with Degesu and Arinsu may very well play an important role in the finale of Dragon Ball DAIMA, and in the franchise as a whole going forward.

Namekians Originally Came From the Demon Realm
There Are Still A Lot of Unanswered Questions Regarding Piccolo’s Personal History
One of DBZ’s biggest lore bombshells this side of Goku’s Saiyan heritage was the fact that Piccolo was an alien of the Namekian race. Initially, it seemed obvious that Piccolo was a demon from the Demon Realm, so this was a shocking revelation revealed by Vegeta during the Saiyan Saga. However, Dragon Ball DAIMA retconned that retcon by recontirming that Piccolo was originally from the Demon Realm after all, because all Namekians once dwelled in the Demon Realm.
Piccolo being a Majin is a major revelation, as it reveals that King Piccolo referring to himself as the “Demon King” makes a bit more sense now. Still, Piccolo and his father’s personal relationship to the Demon Realm has still yet to be explored much, even as Dragon Ball DAIMA heads into its final episode. The Legendary Namek, Neva, has played a prominent role in the story, especially as the anime reaches its climax, so it’ll be interesting to see if he leaves Piccolo with anymore information about his heritage before the series concludes.

The Demon Realm Existed Before the Rest of the Universe
Super Majin Rymus and the Original Supreme Demon King Are Still Enigmatic Figures in Dragon Ball DAIMA

One interesting plot thread that Dragon Ball DAIMA hopefully provides more information about with its final episode is that of Majin Rymus and the creation of the Universe. According to Neva, Super Majin Rymus was ordered to create the outside Universe by the ancient Supreme Demon King. This is a detail with profound implications for the entire Dragon Ball Universe, especially insofar as the storyline of Super is concerned.
Rymus being the creator of the Universe not only hints at the unparalleled power the Demon Realm once held, but also that Lord Zeno, the supreme ruler of the multiverse, must have some relationship to Rymus. Rymus is apparently the Universal creator to Zeno’s Universal destroyer. Zeno was always the most powerful being in Dragon Ball by far, only potentially matched by the still mythical being known as Zalama, but Rymus’ existence suggests there are many more higher deities in the Dragon Ball Universe that have still not been unveiled.
