Most Dragon Ball characters fall into one of three categories: humans, aliens, and artificial beings born from either magic or science. While demons, angels, and other mystical beings were once thought to be their own unique entities, Dragon Ball DAIMA has canonized that these are all just different species of aliens. Between this, and the main heroes of the franchise all being aliens themselves, it’s apparent which of the three categories is the most powerful and dominant.

Most of Dragon Ball’s strongest characters are of alien origin, but there are a select few fighters capable of keeping up with them. Uub and Krillin represent the peak of humanity’s potential, while Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 exemplify what can be achieved through technological brilliance. There are also a handful of characters, such as the Shadow Dragons, who can’t neatly fit into any of the series’ three main categories, but are still incredibly fierce.

Baby is an Artificially Created Parasite, Not an Alien

Baby Can Spread His Influence Across an Entire Planet’s Population

In theory, Baby can defeat any organic opponent. A parasite created by the Tuffles to enact their vengeance upon the Saiyans, Baby has the ability to possess and inhabit billions of people at once and absorb the energy from others into a single body. During his eponymous saga in Dragon Ball GT, Baby successfully infects & inhabits the majority of the Earth’s population, including Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks.

Baby uses Vegeta, an alien, as his main host body during his battles against Goku and Uub, but his presence inside the Saiyan Prince makes him stronger than ever and gives him access to several exclusive forms. Continuously evolving, Baby defeats both Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Majuub, and is able to achieve his most powerful transformation, the Golden Great Ape. Although Baby isn’t able to defeat Super Saiyan 4 Goku during their final battle, he still made superb use of Vegeta’s body and put up a good fight.

Super 17 Can Absorb Nearly Any Attack Thrown At Him

Super 17 is the fusion of Android 17 and Hell Fighter 17, along with being one of the most dangerous villains in Dragon Ball GT. Infinitely stronger than both the Androids who compose him, Super 17 is able to successfully fight Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Not only is he stronger than every antagonist to come before him, his Absorption Barrier causes all ki attacks thrown at him to only make him more powerful.

In only a short time, Super 17 takes down Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Majuub, although this is largely thanks to his ki absorption abilities, rather than supreme physical strength. Likewise, Goku only struggles against Super 17 as much as he does because he continuously fires ki blasts at him, further powering him up in the process. Once Goku figures out what he’s doing wrong and gets some help from Android 18, he’s able to kill Super 17 rather easily with a Super Dragon Fist.

Nuova Shenron and Eis Shenron Are Two of the Strongest Shadow Dragons

The Shadow Dragons are all powerful in their own right, but the majority prove to be no match for Goku. The first two who are able to fight well against Super Saiyan 4 Goku are the twin brothers, Nuova Shenron and Eis Shenron. Wielding the powers of fire and ice, Nuova and Eis are nearly equal in strength, but the Four-Star Dragon has a small edge.

10 Strongest Dragon Ball Super Characters Third Eye Gomah Can Destroy

Third Eye Gomah can defeat nearly every character in Dragon Ball Z, but Dragon Ball Super is filled with much tougher competition.

Nuova Shenron’s strength is nearly on par with Super Saiyan 4 Goku’s, which becomes apparent as he combats both him and Vegeta. His most dangerous attributes are his incredible speed, and his ability to hinder his enemies with the intense heat he generates. During his final moments, Nuova is even able to present a threat to Dragon Ball GT’s final antagonist, Omega Shenron.

Omega Shenron Was Once the Dragon Ball Franchise’s Most Powerful Villain

Of all the Shadow Dragons born from the corruption of the Dragon Balls, Omega Shenron is both the most malicious and most destructive. Being the last opponent Goku faces in Dragon Ball GT, Omega was considered the strongest villain in the franchise up until Dragon Ball Super. The result of Syn Shenron consuming the Dragon Balls, Omega Shenron intended to destroy the universe and had more than enough power to do so.

Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta were no match for Omega Shenron, and the other Saiyan heroes could barely do a thing to assist them. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta was able to outclass him in raw power, but even the strongest character in the series couldn’t put Omega Shenron down before the Fusion Dance’s time limit split Goku and Vegeta apart. In the end, Goku is forced to gather energy from across the universe for his ultimate Spirit Bomb to destroy the final Shadow Dragon.

Android 18 Has Always Been Nearly as Strong as Her Brother

Android 18 Defeats Ribrianne in the Tournament of Power

Android 18 never bothered with training prior to Dragon Ball Super, but her role in the Tournament of Power reveals how much potential she’s had since her debut. She spends most of the Universal Survival Saga fighting alongside her twin brother, Android 17, and shows no trouble keeping pace with him. 18 has been slightly weaker than 17 since the twins debuted, and this doesn’t appear to have changed, even with 17 now being portrayed as one of Universe 7’s top fighters.

Using her infinite energy, 18 doesn’t struggle at all in the Tournament of Power, and defeats Universe 2’s strongest warrior, Ribrianne. Even when she is ultimately eliminated from the competition herself, it isn’t because she loses a fight. Rather, she sacrifices herself to keep 17 in the game, knowing that he’s still the superior warrior.

Android 17 Was the Winner & MVP of the Tournament of Power

Android 17 Holds His Own Alongside Goku and Frieza

Dragon Ball Super transitioned Android 17 from a minor antagonist to the savior of the multiverse. With infinite energy, strength capable of rivaling Super Saiyan Blue Goku, and his nearly unbreakable Android Barrier, 17 is one of Team Universe 7’s most valuable members in the Tournament of Power. Not only does he constantly aid his team throughout the competition, he manages to survive against Jiren and win the whole thing.

10 Shortest Dragon Ball Fights That Were Over in a Flash

Dragon Ball is notorious for stretching out its battles, but every now and then, a shorter fight emerges to make a statement.

Even against the toughest warriors in the multiverse, 17’s barrier remains one of the greatest weapons at Universe 7’s disposal, and he’s able to use it not only defensively, but offensively. The barrier’s most impressive usage comes when 17 leads the charge to defeat Universe 3’s strongest champion, Agnilasa. And while not as iconic as his last stand alongside Goku and Frieza against Jiren, 17 also takes on God of Destruction Toppo.

Agnilasa Fought All of Universe 7’s Strongest Fighters at Once

Although not the weakest universe competing in the Tournament of Power, Universe 3’s individual fighters stood no chance against the likes of Goku and Jiren on their own. However, their captain, Paparoni, has the ability to fuse with three of his robotic creations, Borareta, Koitsukai, and Pancéa, to form the giant Android, Agnilasa. While still not up to par with the competition’s strongest competitors, Agnilasa manages to fight against all six of Universe 7’s surviving members at once.

Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Android 17, Android 18, and Frieza are all necessary to bring Agnilasa down. He nearly eliminates 17 from the competition and, had 18 not sacrificed herself for him, the Z-Warriors likely would have lost without his Android Barrier. Agnilasa’s techniques are mostly basic ki attacks, but he appears to also be capable of utilizing portals in combat.

Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 Are Equals to Goku and Vegeta

Piccolo Only Defeats Gamma 2 After Unlocking His Orange Form

Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are two of the most recently introduced characters in Dragon Ball Super, and also two of the strongest. Created by Dr. Hedo, who’s said to be even smarter than Dr. Gero, the Gammas are described as being on the same level as Goku and Vegeta. This is illustrated by both Gohan’s struggle against Gamma 1, and by Piccolo being hopelessly outclassed by Gamma 2.

Despite how dominant Gamma 2 is against Piccolo, initially, he proves to be no match at all for Orange Piccolo. Likewise, both Gammas are outclassed by Beast Gohan and Cell Max during Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’s climax. With Gamma 1 surviving the events of the film, he currently stands as one of the most powerful mortals in existence.

2

Cell Max is Nearly On Par with Ultra Instinct Goku

Cell Max is Far Deadlier Than Any Other Android

Besides Black Frieza, Cell Max currently stands as the most powerful canon villain in Dragon Ball. As his name suggests, Cell Max is an upgraded version of the original Cell, with far more power than his predecessor. The giant-sized Android was created by Dr. Hedo to help the Red Ribbon Army take over the world, and only the emergence of Beast Gohan was able to stop this from transpiring.

10 Underrated Dragon Ball Characters Everyone Forgets Beat Goku

Goku may be the greatest hero in Dragon Ball, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t lost his fair share of battles – even to weaker opponents.

Prior to Gohan Beast’s awakening, Cell Max defeats Gamma 1, Gamma 2, Ultimate Gohan, Orange Piccolo, Gotenks, Krillin, and Android 18. Losing to Gohan Beast isn’t a significant mark against him either, as Gohan’s strongest transformation potentially places him above Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku. If only Cell Max could operate the way Perfect Cell could, the Z-Warrios may not have been able to stop him.

Arale Will Always Be the Most Untouchable Dragon Ball Character

Arale’s Status as a Gag Character Makes Her Nearly Invincible

Most Dragon Ball fans are aware of Arale Norimaki, the protagonist of Akira Toriyama’s Dr. Slump, and of her status as an impossibly strong gag character. There are significantly fewer fans aware of what she is, and of what the full extent of her cartoonish powers entails. Created by Senbei Norimaki, Arale is the most powerful Android in Dragon Ball, and absolutely none of the franchise’s rules apply to her.

Primarily using headbutts, kicks, and energy blasts in combat, Arale can casually shatter planets, travel between worlds, and take monstrous amounts of damage, only to be fine moments later. This is only the tip of the iceberg for Arale as, so long as something is funny, she can make it happen. Arale’s appearance in Dragon Ball Super does suggest she can be beaten, however. While she claims victory over Vegeta, and could have beaten Goku in their battle, Goku informs her that gag powers don’t work on Beerus.
