The original Venomverse came in 2017, and it’s been growing ever since. From worlds of venomized superpeople to newly imagined monstrosities, the symbiotic parasite’s potential knew no bounds in an infinite multiverse.
New combinations of powerful hosts and different types of symbiotes meant all new variants of Venom. The King in Black of Earth-616 has unmatched powers over his alien brethren and primordial darkness, but the many variants of the Venomverse have impressive powers of their own. With an upcoming war with the Spider-Verse looming, there’s no better time to take a look at a few of the strongest variants who appeared in the Venomverse.

Hulk Is A Terrifying Host
The Incredible Hulk is already one of the most dangerous monsters in the Marvel universe. His strength has no limit because his anger has no limit, and Bruce Banner’s ego makes him incredibly irritable. Adding a venom symbiote turns him into an unstoppable killing machine with access to all manner of weapon constructs and a thirst for human brains.
Multiple venomized variants appeared in Venomverse, starting with the first series, where he retained his green color. Others have Venom’s typical black symbiote texture, and a later version of this venomized variant came from a Venom who spread from one hero to the next like a contagion until it decided Hulk was a perfect host. His capacity for destruction and eating brains is unmatched in Venom form, and bypassing his ridiculous willpower and vast mental constructs is an astounding feat, making this one of the most powerful Venoms in the multiverse.

Synth Venom Has Laser Hands

Human hosts are symbiotes’ greatest weakness besides sound and fire, so the Venom of Earth-345 is exceedingly lethal. When the S.H.I.E.L.D. of its world tricked it into binding with a Life Model Decoy of Eddie, the symbiote used the trap to its advantage. It easily assumed control of the robotic body and figured out its inner workings, relishing in its complexity.
There was no good reason for Eddie Brock’s Life Model Decoy to come equipped with knuckle lasers or plasma ordinance, but Venom gained access to those features almost immediately. Carnage came to attack the L.M.V. after it tore through the containment facility, but the artificial Lethal Protector escaped to fight in future battles. Venom is a notoriously brutal combatant, so replacing his human side with a killing machine will be interesting to watch.

X-23 Carried A Venom Contagion

Wolverine is dangerous in all forms, and X-23 has all his fury in a younger and more agile body. The version introduced in Edge of Venomverse carries a variant of the Venom symbiote with a new ability, making it more dangerous than variants who have to fight with their hosts for control.

Marvel Rules Out Another Popular Choice for the Next Venom
The mystery behind the identity of Marvel’s All-New Venom is getting closer to being answered, one suspect at a time.
As the heroes investigate the brutal deaths of their most skilled allies, they eventually realize the symbiote moves like a pathogen. It infects new hosts and consumes them, then jumps to a new body, piloting it for as long as needed. The symbiote could easily overwhelm the Hulk after Black Widow and Hawkeye, who are some of the strongest wills in Marvel Comics.

Venom: Space Knight Is A Spaceship

“Wet Works,” by Clay McLeod Chapman, Nelson Dániel, and Antonia Fabela, recalls Venom’s time as a Guardian of the Galaxy. Venom: Space Knight is a powerful version of Flash Thompson who gallivants across the galaxy fighting space scum as a one-man ravager army. His use of symbiote-constructed weapons isn’t new, but it’s still cool to see them in action in the cold void of space.
When he found himself trapped in a planet’s gravity and falling rapidly, his symbiote reformed around him in the shape of a spaceship. He survived the burning fury of re-entry, crash-landing on an alien world to meet the venomed future waiting for him. His name is a nod to the mechanized Rom, but Venom: Space Knight is a fun reminder of a bygone era in Venom’s legacy, highlighting a unique adaptation of a popular character in a new environment.

Flash Thompson Fights Venom Kaiju

In Neo New York, the Venom symbiote takes the form of a massive city-stomping Kaiju. Flash Thompson enters a huge robot to combat the giant monster in the middle of a densely populated area, and the fight goes nuclear. There’s no other way a situation like this should go.
The Kaiju symbiote fires an energy-beam attack, and Thompson fires one back from his mech. The explosion levels part of the city and supposedly terminates the giant alien monster. Venom is already incredibly dangerous, but this building-sized variant has powerful new abilities, and its dead remains have never been shown.

Venom Infects Plants And Kills A World
Peach Momoko’s “Bloom of Doom” is potentially the most artful and exploratory installment of the Extreme Venomverse anthology. When an alien goo falls to Earth, it comes in contact with a flower, and soon, the world is purged of all its natural beauty. Fairies, forests, fields, and humans are torn asunder until only an industrial world is left. It all happens in just a few pages and is quite beautiful.

Fans have seen quite a few different versions and designs for Venom and its various hosts over the years, both in the comics and in adapted media.
The story feels analogous to humanity’s overconsumption of natural resources. The way the symbiote dismays when nature’s beauty shrinks away from it then carelessly and callously violates that beauty in the next instant, is book-ended by views from the outside. While the story starts with an image of Earth, it ends with a person coming into contact with Venom’s black rain and a portrait of an industrial landscape. The piece is entirely without text, but it feels very powerful.

Venomized Alien Hives Are Terrifying

The most terrifying new Venom Variant appearing in Venomverse Reborn #3 isn’t mentioned by name, and it only appears in one panel. As the King in Black tells readers about alien threats, perched on his shoulder, a Brood drone with Venom’s emblem and livery emblazoned on its carapace sits. The drone is also eerily similar to a Xenomorph with its venomized black appearance.
Xenomorphs, the terrifying monsters of the Alien franchise, recently joined the Marvel multiverse, and Eddie’s mastery over a venomized Brood variant hints at a connection between the parasitic species. Aliens vs. Avengers #1 expanded on that connection when a symbiotic suit takes over a facehugger. It’s easy to see how the symbiote’s hive mind might appeal to a Xenomorph.
3
The Squadron Supreme Is Scary Powerful

Marvel’s Squadron Supreme is incredibly powerful, but the Nighthawk and the Eternal Hyperion of Earth-1938 led their team in Venomizing the whole planet in Venomverse Reborn #4. When the alien symbiote took over Nighthawk, he immediately went after Hyperion to infect the team’s strongest member.
Earth-1938’s Nighthawk contracted the symbiote from a drug called B.A.N.E. and resembles Batman more than his Earth-616 counterpart. Hyperion’s powers are close to Superman’s, making his Venomized variant one of the most powerful in the multiverse. With teammates like Nighthawk, Warrior Woman, Blur, and Doctor Spectrum, the team is similar to a Venomized Justice League. They’re ridiculously powerful, and their world is as good as gone.
2
Viking Venom And A Venomized Monoverse

Venomverse Reborn introduces multiple versions of Venom, who drastically change the layout of their universes. First, a symbiote lurks in a cave, turning a Viking warrior into a terrifying monster. Then, an immortal Venom leads a space war against Tony Stark’s digitally resurrected hive mind.
The Viking Venom led to drastic changes in Earth’s history, but that doesn’t compare to the seemingly omnipresent revolutionary variant’s self-sacrificing final act. He could seemingly spread his symbiote consciousness among many organic hosts. Still, his prime body contained a special spark that led to a new, Venomized monoverse after he tore himself open.
1
Ghost Rider And Venom Share A Host
He was shown in the original Venomverse, but Edge of Venomverse #3 gave readers a better view of a venomized Spirit of Vengeance. Unfortunately for the villains of Earth-53912, the symbiote and spirit share parasitic custody of their human host, puppeteering his body while they take turns in the driver’s seat. His penance stare is as dangerous as his bloodthirsty fangs and writhing tentacles, and he’s more brutal than other versions of each antihero.
Another powerful being from that same world in the Venomverse is the notorious Octosquatchpool. Some say his name is incredibly stupid, but it tells fans which three unlikely characters are blended to create the lumbering Merc. His red suit barely fits around his giant hairy form, and his huge metal tentacles make him deceptively agile. Earth-53912 is incredibly weird and even more dangerous, but their Venom variant is powerful and likely essential in the brewing war with the King in Crimson.
