Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball seems only to become more popular thanks to rejuvenating new franchise additions like Dragon Ball DAIMA. Dragon Ball DAIMA, while set between Kid Buu’s defeat and Dragon Ball Super’s start, has introduced a wealth of new threats, allies, and transformations. Some of Dragon Ball’s characters have never seemed more powerful than in Dragon Ball DAIMA, and it’s exciting to consider what’s to come by the anime’s end.
Dragon Ball DAIMA hasn’t struggled when it comes to creating intimidating challenges for Goku, Vegeta, and the rest of its heroes, but this doesn’t mean that they’d be able to survive against some of Dragon Ball Super’s strongest. Dragon Ball Super really goes above and beyond with some of its characters – particularly Universe 11’s Jiren – and this Tournament of Power competitor would make swift work of Dragon Ball DAIMA’s best.

Supreme Kai Shin Is Still At The Bottom Of The Food Chain Despite His Divine Powers
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball Z, Episode 213, “Big Trouble, Little Trunks”; Manga Debut: Dragon Ball Z, Chapter 243 (Dragon Ball Chapter 437), “The Mysterious Duo”
Universe 7’s Supreme Kai, Shin, and his attendant, Kibito, are treated like prolific figures when they first appear on Earth during Dragon Ball Z’s Buu Saga. Once he senses his power, Piccolo is terrified to take Shin on in the 25th World Tournament. There have been brief instances highlighting Shin’s martial arts and magic skills, such as when his future counterpart trains Future Trunks. Shin’s reputation aside, he hasn’t assisted the heroes in battle on many occasions.
Shin’s contributions to DAIMA have been minimal, but he’s still been able to neutralize some Gendarmerie guards who threaten the heroes. Shin is likely stronger than Neva due to the Legendary Namekian’s old age, but Shin is still the weakest of DAIMA’s most powerful characters. He wouldn’t stand a chance against Dr. Arinsu’s Majin creations, let alone Dragon Ball Super’s Jiren. Top, another Universe 11 Pride Trooper fighter, would also completely clear Shin without any signs of struggle.

Glorio Is A Mysterious Majin Who Has Yet To Show His Best Work
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball DAIMA, Episode 1, “Conspiracy”; Manga Debut: N/A
Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo are likely strong enough to handle any Demon Realm difficulties on their own. Still, they’ve aligned themselves with some resourceful Majins who can better help them navigate this new realm. Glorio is initially from the Third Demon World, but his work with Dr. Arinsu has allowed him to live in the First Demon World and freely travel between these different environments. Glorio knows how to intimidate Demon Realm locals and is a good shot. However, he also possesses some powerful lightning elemental powers that he uses to test Goku’s strength.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta is finally canon, and he’s capable of defeating some of the strongest characters in the Dragon Ball multiverse.
Glorio’s Lighting Buster, Flash Bolt, and Magical Thunder Punch are powerful attacks, but they still pale compared to Goku’s Super Saiyan strength. This means that Glorio is pretty much hopeless against Jiren in battle, considering the Super character confidently held back Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct strength. Glorio may still be holding back and has yet to reveal his full power, but there’s no way it’s dramatically stronger enough to challenge Jiren.

Tamagami Number Three Is The Weakest Of The Demon Realm’s Dragon Ball Guardians
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball DAIMA, Episode 1, “Conspiracy”; Manga Debut: N/A
A Dragon Ball hunt is hardly anything new, but Dragon Ball DAIMA breathes new life into this tradition by adding powerful Demon Realm Dragon Ball guardians, the Tamagamis. These three Tamagamis have kept the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls protected for generations, and even the weakest of these safeguards – Tamagami Number Three – is said to at least be as powerful as Perfect Cell. Tamagami Number Three was strong enough to impede Demon Realm bigwigs like Dabura, but Goku easily cleared this challenge in his Super Saiyan 2 form.
Tamagami Number Three fights with a giant mallet, but none of this will leave much of an impression on Jiren. Super Saiyan 2 Goku, even in Dragon Ball Super, wouldn’t be able to land a single hit on Jiren. There’s no way that Tamagami Number Three would give Jiren any pause. He’d probably even be able to defeat all three Tamagamis at once.

Piccolo Reconnects With His Roots During His Demon Realm Adventure
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball, Episode 123, “Lost And Found”; Manga Debut: Dragon Ball, Chapter 161, “The Fist Of Son Goku”
Piccolo is a pivotal Dragon Ball character who occasionally gets pushed out of the spotlight in favor of his plentiful Saiyan peers. It’s exciting that Piccolo is along for the ride in Dragon Ball DAIMA, but he hasn’t exactly received many opportunities to showcase where his strength is at. Piccolo hasn’t had the luxury of taking on any of the Tamagamis, and his “battles” have been limited to random Demon Realm thieves and Megath rodents. Piccolo is still a formidable fighter, and he’d likely even be able to negate his child-sized transformation by utilizing his Super Giant-Form Great Namekian transformation.
Piccolo hasn’t received any fruitful power boosts in Dragon Ball DAIMA, but the new anime may be waiting for the right moment to celebrate this Namekian. Piccolo, even if he receives a magical boost from Neva or obtains the Tertian Oculus, isn’t going to make much headway against Jiren. Jiren hopelessly outclassed Piccolo in Dragon Ball Super, which was a considerably stronger version of the Namekian with more training under his belt.

Tamagami Number Two Delivers A More Intense Demon Realm Danger
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball DAIMA, Episode 1, “Conspiracy”; Manga Debut: N/A
The Second Demon World’s Tamagami, Tamagami Number Two, is a more intimidating challenge who confidently fights with a giant trident and is adept at underwater altercations. Vegeta bravely takes on this Tamagami and manages to topple this totemic threat after he ascends to Super Saiyan 3 status for the first time. This also follows Tamagami Number Two’s magical manipulation courtesy of Neva. As a Super Saiyan 3, Vegeta doesn’t just defeat the Tamagami; he completely overwhelms him and doesn’t even break a sweat.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is redefining what it means to be powerful in the franchise, and giving characters like Vegeta a chance to out-do even Goku.
This reinforces that Tamagami Number Two might be strong by Demon Realm standards, but he’s still no match for Jiren. Jiren collectively takes on four of Universe 7’s strongest fighters at once, all of whom have strength superior to a Super Saiyan 3. One determined Tamagami isn’t going to amount to much against Jiren, even in his base form.
5
Majin Kuu Is Dr. Arinu’s Initial Creepy Creation
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball DAIMA, Episode 9, “Thieves”; Manga Debut: N/A
Dragon Ball DAIMA has done excellent work when it comes to subverting the audience’s expectations and going against Dragon Ball‘s status quo. One of the biggest surprises of the anime is that Dr. Arinsu has preserved some Majin Buu fragments, which she’s gone on to use as ingredients for her own Buu-like minions. The first of these attempts is Majin Kuu, which combines a small Buu fragment with a Saibamen seed. Majin Kuu would surely shame most Demon Realm residents, but he’s still inferior to Tamagami Number One.
Kuu has some creative and unpredictable techniques, such as his Energy Browning attack, Homing Energy Ball, Mouth Energy Wave, and intimidating Tornado ability. However, it’s hard to picture any of these techniques slowing down Jiren when they couldn’t even impede Tamagami Number One. Majin Kuu also exhibits genuine fear during his Tamagami battle, and Jiren’s intensity would likely frighten Kuu even more and push him to early forfeiture.

Tamagami Number One Is The Demon Realm’s Strongest Dragon Ball Guardian
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball DAIMA, Episode 1, “Conspiracy”; Manga Debut: N/A
Tamagami Number One is the strongest of the Demon Realm’s three Dragon Ball guardians. It’s difficult to properly ascertain Tamagami Number One’s power, considering that none of the heroes actually take on this threat. Tamagami Number One faces Majin Kuu and Majin Duu, neither of whom has tested their power against the heroes to establish a power level baseline. Tamagami Number One is clearly meant to be an intimidating force, and the bladed weapon he fights with can cause significantly more damage than the other Tamagamis’ weapons.
Tamagami Number One is fast, durable, and possesses impressive energy attacks. However, none of these skills reflect strength close to what Jiren fights with in the Tournament of Power. There’s actually a good chance that Jiren’s Omegaheat Magnetron attack would take out Tamagami Number One in a single blast. Jiren would be able to collect the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls with ease.

Majin Duu Is Dr. Arinsu’s Superior Macabre Creation
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball DAMA, Episode 11, “Legend”; Manga Debut: N/A
Dr. Arinsu, disenfranchised over Majin Kuu’s lackluster results, creates yet another minion with Great Witch Marba’s help. Dr. Arinsu utilizes the same process, but she uses an even larger fragment of Majin Buu this time around. The result, Majin Duu, certainly seems more in line with his Dragon Ball Z predecessor. Duu proves that he has more impressive energy attacks than Majin Kuu, not to mention impressive mimicry skills to copy his opponent’s attacks. Duu’s body is also extremely malleable, which aids him in evasion and gives him the element of surprise in many situations. There’s a big gulf in strength between Majin Kuu and Majin Duu since the latter defeats Tamagami Number One. Majin Duu still relies on a chocolate power boost to find his killer instinct.

Certain alien species in Dragon Ball have massive advantages over others – and especially over humans.
Majin Duu could eat the Demon Realm’s entire chocolate supply and still fail against Jiren. Majin Duu may hold his own against base-level Jiren, but his Full Power and Super Full Power states would be on another level. Anyone who can handle the likes of Ultra Instinct, Golden Frieza, and Super Saiyan Blue Evolved isn’t going to struggle against Majin Duu. Duu’s full powers have yet to be shown and he might manage to do better against Jiren if he also has Buu’s regeneration and absorption skills.

Jiren Would Triumph Against Goku’s Weakened DAIMA Self
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball, Episode 1, “The Secret Of The Dragon Balls”; Manga Debut: Dragon Ball, Chapter 1, “Bloomers And The Monkey King”
Gokuand the rest of Dragon Ball DAIMA’s heroes undergo a troubling transformation when they revert to first-grader status. Goku’s powers are weaker while he’s in this state, plus he has shorter limbs that struggle to connect with his opponent. Nevertheless, Goku hasn’t struggled very much in the Demon Realm. He’s been relatively conservative with his power and has yet to go beyond Super Saiyan 2 status. It stands to reason that all of Goku’s Dragon Ball Z powers are still in play and that he could transform into a Super Saiyan 3 since Vegeta has done as much and has less experience on this front.
Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken combination attack against Jiren in Dragon Ball Super still isn’t enough to defeat Universe 11’s Jiren. Goku’s Ultra Instinct seems like a transcendent breakthrough, but this really puts Goku on equal ground with the determined warrior. There’s no way that this weaker version of Goku, who has yet to experience godly ki, would be able to defeat Jiren. Even a Join Bug fusion between Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball DAIMA would lose against Jiren. There’s been speculation that DAIMA might finally canonize Dragon Ball GT’s Super Saiyan 4 transformation. However, even this massive power boost wouldn’t be enough for Goku to defeat Universe 11’s best.

Vegeta’s Increased Power In DAIMA Is Still Well Below Jiren’s Limit
Anime Debut: Dragon Ball Z, Episode 5, “Gohan’s Rage”; Manga Debut: Dragon Ball Z, Chapter 10 (Dragon Ball Chapter 204), “The Needs Of The Many”
Vegeta is used to living in Goku’s shadow, but Dragon Ball DAIMA has given the Saiyan Prince a worthy showcase after he’s attained Super Saiyan 3 power. Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta’s takedown of Tamagami Number Two is one of Vegeta’s most cathartic victories. Vegeta seems to be at peak power in this state, but this doesn’t mean he’d experience the same results against Jiren.
While fighting alongside Goku, Frieza, and Android 17, Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Vegeta is still helpless against Jiren. Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta’s ego would quickly be humbled by his opponent’s superior power. The only way Vegeta could defeat Jiren is with his recent Ultra Ego transformation, but Vegeta’s DAIMA version is still years away from stumbling upon this revelatory transformation.
