The longer Dragon Ball has gone on, the more gods who have been added to its mythos. As is the natural progression of the franchise as whole, gods who have been introduced more recently tend to be stronger than gods from early in the original anime. Goku has come a long way since his days training under Kami, the god of Earth, with his goal since the start of Dragon Ball Super having been to surpass Beerus, Universe 7’s God of Destruction.

The Dragon Ball multiverse contains a complex hierarchy of gods, many of whom truly live up to the title. Within the main canon, the strongest gods are among the only characters who still possess greater power than Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta. And, outside the main canon, there are even more incredibly powerful gods, with most of them being forces of pure evil.

Power levels have been essential in Dragon Ball since its introduction in Z. Official guides even detailed characters’ power for fans.

Kibito Kai Enjoys the Benefits of Being a Fusion

Kibito Kai Could Have Defeated Fat Buu

Compared to the Z-Warriors, Universe 7’s Supreme Kai, Nahare, isn’t too impressive. What is impressive is the magnitude of power that can be acquired through fusion. Upon fusing with his attendant, Kibito, the Supreme Kai becomes Kibito Kai, the strongest character in Dragon Ball Z to never fight.

In the Buu Saga, Supreme Kai and Kibito appear to be roughly on par with Goten and Trunks. Upon fusing into Gotenks, the two relatively weak Saiyan children acquire power superior to Super Buu. While Kibito Kai wouldn’t be nearly as strong as Gotenks, on account of him not having access to transformations, he’d still have been able to achieve the impressive feat of defeating Buu’s weaker “Fat” form.

Chronoa is the Supreme Kai of Time

Chronoa is Far More Capable in Combat Than She Appears to Be

In terms of raw strength, Chronoa is no stronger than other Supreme Kais. Where she truly shines is with the special abilities she possesses as the Supreme Kai of Time. Chronoa can freely travel through time, freeze and manipulate the flow of time, and even erase entire timelines.

In direct combat, Chronoa can boost herself by entering her Time Power Unleashed form. In this state, Chrona was capable of combating Mechikabura at the peak of his power, even if she wasn’t able to defeat him. Her greatest technique in this form is her Time Labyrinth, which is powerful enough to lock the Demon Realm outside of time.

Mechikabura Proved to be One of the Strongest Villains in Super Dragon Ball Heroes

Mechikabura is One of the Greatest Evils to Come From the Demon Realm

Long before Dragon Ball DAIMA, non-canon material was happy to build off the concept of the Demon Realm. One of the most deadly new characters to come out of this lore expansion was Mechikabura, a Demon God. Also known as the Dark King, Mechikabura is one of the most prominent villains in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, meaning he repeatedly goes up against versions of the Z-Warriors who are stronger than their canon counterparts.

Despite most characters in Dragon Ball surpassing the original version of Super Saiyan Goku, some never did – and never will.

Although Mechikabura is past his prime, he has no trouble reminding people why he’s still the ultimate evil. In the SDBH anime, Mechikabura is able to achieve his Time Power Unleashed form, and becomes stronger than ever. In this state, the Dark King is powerful enough to combat Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegito, and survive one of his Kamehameha Waves.

The Crimson Masked Saiyan is Far Stronger Than the Main Canon’s Goku Black

One of Zamasu’s Strongest Forms is Found in Super Dragon Ball Heroes

Zamasu is one of the most dangerous enemies the Z-Warriors have ever faced. In the main canon, his Fused Zamasu form was deadly enough to take on Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, and Super Saiyan 2 Future Trunks all at once. Impressive as this is, Super Dragon Ball Heroes’ Crimson Masked Saiyan puts his canon counterpart to shame.

Crimson was saved from his canon fate by Fu, leading him to become a Time Breaker, and to train by fighting and killing 99 different versions of Goku. He has all the same special powers as Zamasu, including cloning himself, as well as an upgraded version of Super Saiyan Rose. While using Super Saiyan Rose Full Power, Crimson’s strength is beyond that of Ultra Instinct Goku’s.

Grand Supreme Kai Stood Tall Among The Other Kais in the Dragon Ball Universe

Millions of years prior to the events of Dragon Ball Z, Universe 7 had not one, but four Supreme Kais, and a Grand Supreme Kai who ruled over them. In Dragon Ball Z, Grand Supreme Kai didn’t seem too powerful, with him having been unable to stop Majin Buu. However, Dragon Ball Super has revealed there was more to this story, and that the Grand Supreme Kai was once a major power in the multiverse.

Long before he fought Majin Buu, Grand Supreme Kai engaged Moro. At this point in time, his power level was closer to that of a God of Destruction’s than a Supreme Kai’s. It’s because of his immense strength that Grand Supreme Kai was able to defeat Moro, but he was forced to relinquish much of his power in the process.

5

Demigra Surpassed Mechikabura in Strength

Demigra Has Been a Menace Since His Debut in Dragon Ball Xenoverse

Demigra is the most powerful Demon God to appear in the franchise so far. The apprentice of the previous Dark King, Mechikabura, Demigra is a master sorcerer who has lived for millions of years. Throughout Super Dragon Ball Heroes, he goes from a powerful villain who can challenge virtually any opponent, to a threat to the entire multiverse.

Dragon Ball has introduced a wide range of Gods and deities over time, some of whom hit the scene much earlier than others.

Demigra achieves his full power by absorbing both the Dark Factor and the Time Scrolls. In the form this results in, Demigra becomes strong enough to destroy the multiverse with singular attacks, and to overwhelm Super Saiyan Blue Vegito. He’s only eventually brought down through the combined efforts of Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Future Gohan, and Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Bardock.

The Gods of Destruction Are a Wall Goku Has Been Unable to Overcome

Beerus and His Comrades Are Stronger Than Any Mortals

The introduction of Beerus in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods raised the ceiling of power in the franchise to new heights. The Gods of Destruction were never the strongest characters, their Angel attendants having always been more powerful, but Beerus was so much more formidable than Goku that made surpassing the destroyer his new goal in life. Even with all the time that has passed since BoG, Goku is still too weak to defeat Beerus, and the other Gods of Destruction by extension.

In the current multiverse, there are 12 Gods of Destruction and, while they aren’t equals, they are all of a similar caliber. They also all possess the ability to instantly destroy anyone they choose, and are skilled in the principles behind Ultra Ego. These gods aren’t reliant on power alone though, with all of them having proven their skills as fighters when they were mere mortals to gain their positions in the first place.

3

Infinite Zamasu Posed a Threat to the Entire Multiverse

Only Zeno Held the Power to Erase Infinite Zamasu

While it takes everything they have, Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks are ultimately able to win in their final battle against Fused Zamasu. Unfortunately for the “Future” timeline, Fused Zamasu’s death gives birth to Infinite Zamasu, an incorporeal, immortal being still capable of mass destruction. The Z-Warriors are helpless against it, to the point Goku is forced to give up and bring in back-up.

Infinite Zamasu was such a terror that it held the potential to travel between universes and timelines, and smite every mortal in each one. The only reason this didn’t happen is because of Goku’s enlistment of Future Zeno. Unstoppable as Infinite Zamasu seemed, even he wasn’t immune to being erased by the Omni-King.

2

Rymus Created the Dragon Ball Multiverse

Rymus’ True Power Could Be Even Greater Than Fans Speculate

Up until Dragon Ball DAIMA, the origins of the franchise’s multiverse were a mystery. It seemed possible, but likely, that Zeno was responsible for creating it, but that only ever implied. In the currently ongoing series, Nahare reveals to Goku and the rest of their friends that it wasn’t Zeno who created the multiverse, but Super Majin Rymus.

Dragon Ball Z is known for its length, with a total of 291 episodes, but these 10 anime are much longer.

Rymus’ power was legendary enough prior to his creation of the multiverse that the Supreme Demon King of the era was aware this was something he’d be capable of. Given this potential for creation, and his resemblance to Zeno, it’s likely that his destructive abilities are just as potent. Hopefully, fans haven’t seen the last of Rymus, and will get to see more of what he was capable of.

The Omni-Kings Are the Highest Power in the Dragon Ball Multiverse

Zeno and Future Zeno Can Erase Universes with Ease

In both canon and non-canon Dragon Ball material, there is no one stronger than the Omni-Kings, Zeno and Future Zeno. They may be dumb, childish, and seemingly not adept at combat, but the raw power they possess is second-to-none. With a thought, they can erase universes, timelines, or even the entire multiverse.

It is doubtful that any of Dragon Ball’s heroes will ever surpass the Omni-Kings. Between the skill already possessed by characters like Goku and Vegeta, and the ability to instantly destroy anything and everything, it would be impossible to tell any kind of dramatic story with them present in it. The franchise spent decades introducing stronger and stronger gods, but it will never be able to introduce anyone stronger than the Zenos.
