Naruto remains one of the most beloved and iconic Shonen Jump franchises of all time, with its characters recognizable by generations of anime fans around the world. Now, an anniversary video celebrates one of these characters through a music celebration of the years passed.
Featuring the song “LOVERS” by Seven oops, the video focuses mainly on Sakura Haruno, just in time for cherry blossom season — and a date important to the character and her fans). The song itself has a history with the franchise, and it also matches the general vibe of the video and the character in question. Nearly a decade and a half old, it brings about feelings of springtime nostalgia that celebrate the history of both the manga brand and the musical brand.

Newest Shonen Jump Reveal Celebrates Naruto Shippuden Anime After 14 Years
The new “LOVERS” Naruto Jump MV is the 34th in the music video series, all of which are based around Weekly Shonen Jump properties. As the name suggests, the song in question is Seve oops’ “LOVERS”, which had been paired with the franchise long beforehand. The song came out in June 2011, making it now 14 years old, and it was used as the ninth opening theme for the Naruto: Shippuden anime (Episodes 206 to 230). It was even featured in the film Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison. In the new JUMP MV featuring the song, Sakura Haruno (whose birthday is also March 28, the day of the video’s release) is the focus, showcasing her growth from the initial chapters of Naruto up to later in the manga’s story. Given that the video starts with her walking behind her teammates Naruto and Sasuke, the use of the song is even stronger.
Naruto initially had a crush on Sakura, while Sakura’s affection for Sasuke eventually sees them married. Even the lyrics have a sentimental vibe, echoing how all the parties involved feel throughout the manga and anime. Likewise, the visuals especially fit the character, giving off a springtime aesthetic of cherry blossoms. The Jump MV ends with Sakura medically tending to Sasuke and Naruto, filling her niche as a medical ninja. While the song itself is now 14 years old, the band has a history of over two decades, having formed in 2004. The group is now set to go on tour throughout Europe in April 2025, making the newly released a pleasant surprise that hypes up their music and puts them back in the eyes (and ears) of anime fans, especially Naruto enthusiasts.
