The winter holidays for schools in Uttar Pradesh have officially ended. Many districts have reopened schools today, while others continue to keep them closed due to the severe cold wave.
Lucknow Schools Closed
In Lucknow, schools will remain closed today. The District Magistrate (DM) of Lucknow, Surya Pal Gangwar, had initially announced holidays until January 13. However, a subsequent order extended the closure for schools up to Class 8 until January 16 due to the ongoing cold wave. Schools in Lucknow are now scheduled to reopen on January 17.
Bareilly Schools Closed
Due to fog and cold weather, a holiday has been declared for all schools from Class 1 to 8 across all boards on Wednesday. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar issued the holiday order at 9 PM yesterday.
Prayagraj Schools Closed
Physical classes for grades 1 to 8 will remain suspended across all schools in Prayagraj, today, January 15, in the wake of traffic movement on Makar Sankranti. Instead, online classes will be held.
Badaun Schools Closed
Similarly, in Badaun, schools up to Class 8 will reopen on January 17, with a two-day extension of holidays announced by DM Nidhi Srivastava.
Moradabad, Rampur Schools Closed
Schools in Moradabad and Rampur will also remain closed until January 16. For Classes 9 to 12, schools in these districts will function from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Sambhal Schools Closed
In Sambhal, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Alka Sharma has declared holidays for January 15 and 16 for schools up to Class 8.
Basti Schools Closed
In Basti, schools up to Class 8 will remain closed on January 15 as per the orders.
Shahjahanpur Schools Closed
In Shahjahanpur, District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh has issued orders to keep schools up to Class 8 closed until January 16 due to the cold wave.
