Summary
- New Minecraft DLC includes Hello Kitty characters and a colorful, seasonal village.
- The Hello Kitty World features custom mobs, textures, and unique furniture for up to four players.
The latest Minecraft DLC revolves around Hello Kitty and its most iconic characters, including the titular hero. Hello Kitty has been a popular franchise since the 1970s, and the whimsical world created by Yuko Daniel is finally making its Minecraft debut.
Minecraft collaborations go way back to 2014 when Mojang added popular franchises like Halo, Fallout, and Mass Effect to the game. These were included in classic releases of the game on PS3, Xbox 360, and more. The DLCs were originally released as Mash-up Packs, which have since been upgraded to Worlds or Texture Packs. Players who purchased the Mash-up Packs on legacy consoles are still able to download them on the current client, but they may not run as smoothly as recent additions due to the limitations of the earlier clients. With the collaborative trend continuing in Minecraft, the Hello Kitty universe was just added to the Marketplace.

Minecraft’s best structures are still divided by how good their loot is. Here’s where to go first for the best treasure.
A trailer for the Hello Kitty Minecraft World available now in the Marketplace was recently revealed. The trailer begins with a unique skin entering Hello Kitty’s house, which is fittingly composed of pink and white blocks. Kuromi’s much darker house is then showcased, followed by Cinnamoroll’s very pastel abode, and an aerial view of the Minecraft village they all reside in. The video details how this village changes with each season, and it will feature seasonal activities like egg hunts and pumpkin carving. The trailer shows off a Hello Kitty shop with a menu that pops up when players want to buy items, with quest-giving characters like Pompompurin and My Melody rewarding players with resources for this shop. The reveal concludes with a fireworks show underneath a rainbow that arcs across the sky behind the Hello Kitty village.
The Hello Kitty Minecraft World Features Iconic Characters
The Hello Kitty World is bright and colorful, and features custom mobs and textures. The Minecraft Chickens, Cows, Sheep, and Pigs all look different, providing some variety to what Minecraft players expect from a standard Seed. According to the Marketplace listing for the Hello Kitty World, the map is intended for up to four players. Among the furniture shown off but not listed in the World’s shop are balloons, playground equipment, and beehives that come in numerous colors. The World presumably rewards players with enough resources to unlock all the unique furniture and materials available. While the World has a bunch of content to explore, its main draw may be the Hello Kitty characters, with Badtz-Maru, Keroppi, Little Twin Stars, Tuxedo Sam, and more all shown off in the trailer.
If this Hello Kitty World is successful, the Japanese franchise could end up in more games, or receive further attention in Minecraft. As Mojang continues to update Minecraft, even more collaborative worlds may be added to the game.
Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!
Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.
Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
