Hello Games has released a new experimental branch for No Man’s Sky players, addressing several day-one fixes. The experimental branch is open to everyone who wants to try it out, and the No Man’s Sky developer is encouraging players to report any issues they find while playing.

The current state of No Man’s Sky is a far cry from where it first started. Upon its complicated debut, No Man’s Sky underwent major changes to become the game the developer had originally envisioned but failed to deliver at launch. However, plenty of updates have been released over the years, turning the tables and creating one of the most impressive redemption arcs in gaming. Even though the game is in a great spot right now, Hello Games continues to support it by introducing new content and fixing issues.

Much like previous No Man’s Sky experimental branches, this one tackles fixes related to gameplay and items and resolves a couple of issues for console players. An issue with inventories not functioning as they should has been resolved, along with a bug that prevented players from harvesting certain materials. PlayStation 5 players may have noticed recent hangs while playing, and the experimental branch introduces a fix for that. For Xbox One X and PS4 Pro players, a fix has been implemented to address an issue with water reflections.

Players were also experiencing a bug where flora and minerals in No Man’s Sky wouldn’t show up in the discoveries list. Additionally, a glitch affecting creature models has been resolved, ensuring a better visual experience. Those who play in multiplayer will be happy to know that an issue causing crashes in networking has been fixed, along with other crashes that occurred when donating items.

Players who want to try out the experimental branch can do so by changing the game settings through the Steam library. They need to go to “Properties,” enter “3xperimental” in the textbox, and press “CHECK CODE.” This will reveal a menu where the branch can be selected. Hello Games has informed players that there is a chance the branch could introduce new issues and recommends backing up save files to prevent any loss of progress.

The developer has also asked players to keep reporting any bugs and issues they encounter while playing on the experimental branch to help improve the overall game experience. While Hello Games continues to bring fresh content to players, No Man’s Sky still has plenty in store for the future.
