It just got easier to visit Iceland and the rest of Europe from the Sunshine State.

Icelandair recently announced new service between Miami, FL, and Reykjavík, Iceland that will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The inaugural flight will takeoff on October 25, 2025, and the service will run seasonally through March 2026.

Best of all, Miami travelers can connect in Reykjavík to another Icelandair flight for access throughout Europe, including Berlin, Paris, Rome, and Zurich. Icelandair is known for their stopover program, where travelers can stay in Iceland for several days with no additional charge. For example, a traveler could fly from Miami to Reykjavík, and enjoy a two night vacation as the stopover in Iceland, before connecting on another flight to Paris.

“With the new long-range and fuel-efficient Airbus aircraft we are able to add new and exciting destinations and Miami is a great addition,” Icelandair’s President and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason shared in a statement. “Miami will fit well into our route network, with convenient connections via Iceland to our 34 destinations in Europe.”

Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region is a popular tourist destination. The World Travel Awards recently ranked Miami Beach as America’s Leading City Destinations for its seven miles of beaches, and also having the largest collection of art deco buildings in the world. The area is also home to some of the top luxury hotels, including the Fontainebleau

Icelandair has been on the move with partnerships and other expansions within the United States. The airline recently launched a partnership with Southwest Airlines, offering interline connections from several gateway cities, including Baltimore and Nashville, to Iceland. Once in Iceland, travelers can connect on other Icelandair flights to explore Europe.
