Taylor Swift may not have won any new awards at the 2025 Grammys Sunday night (Feb. 2), but she still got to show off something sparkly — thanks to Janelle Monáe.

During the show’s sprawling Quincy Jones tribute, which the “We Are Young” singer closed with a phenomenal performance of Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” in head-to-toe King of Pop gear, Monáe at one point shed her sequin-trimmed blazer while dancing on a table and threw it into the crowd. And, perhaps having studied enough of boyfriend Travis Kelce’s plays at Kansas City Chiefs games, it was the “Anti-Hero” singer who snagged it — after which Swift slipped it on over her glittery red dress.

In pictures from the evening, the Eras Tour headliner continues to wear the jacket while raising a toast to Kendrick Lamar after his record of the year win for Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Not Like Us” and whispering something into best new artist winner Chappell Roan’s ear. In one video, Swift still sports her new outerwear while twirling around with Alicia Keys’ son Genesis during Shakira’s performance, while another clip finds her going wild to Charli XCX’s Brat medley with Margaret Qualley, champagne bottle in hand.

And in a video of Swift leaving the ceremony at Crypto.com Arena, she still had Monáe’s jacket in hand.

The “Karma” artist was present throughout the four-hour ceremony, with the show’s cameras also capturing her dancing along to Billie Eilish’s performance of “Birds of a Feather” and cheering on Sabrina Carpenter as the former Eras opener sang “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” At one point, Swift — who was nominated for six prizes Sunday, including song, record and album of the year — presented best country album to longtime friend Beyoncé for Cowboy Carter.

Monáe’s performance was part of a larger tribute to Jones, who died in November at the age of 91. Narrated by Will Smith with Herbie Hancock and Jacob Collier on the keys, the showcase also featured Cynthia Erivo belting out “Fly Me to the Moon,” Lainey Wilson singing “Let the Good Times Roll” and Stevie Wonder playing harmonica before leading the crowd in a round of “We Are the World.”
