Almost three years after the Digimon Ghost Game anime ended its initial run in March 2023, a brand-new official Digimon series is set to hit the small screen in late 2025.

Digimon Beatbreak, slated for release this year in October, will be the newest anime in the wider franchise, whose first anime dates back to 1999 with the release of Digimon Adventure. The new series was revealed during Digimon Con 2025’s livestream, although the details of Digimon Beatbreak have yet to be confirmed. However, an initial teaser trailer for the series was released and can be seen below, along with a first key visual.

As seen in the teaser video, the official description of the new show simply reads: “A brand-new anime series. Emotion-devouring digital lifeforms. Digimon Beatbreak. Oct. 2025.” The video shows a silhouette of the main character and their partner Digimon, but no further information about the series, such as the character names, plot synopsis or number of episodes, was revealed.

However, in addition to the teaser trailer for Digimon Beatbreak, a special 25th-anniversary short ‘movie’ — likewise seen above — was also showcased as part of the livestream’s anime portion. The nearly five-minute video features all the adult versions of the original Digidestined in a never-before-scene leading up to the events of the final episode of Digimon Adventure 02.

Due to expired rights, the original Digimon Adventure and its sequel, Digimon Adventure 02, are currently unavailable to watch in the U.S. on any major streaming service. Its reboot anime series, Digimon Adventure (2020), can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
