An exciting day awaits Law & Order fans next month, and fans of all three current shows — Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Organized Crime — are going to be stoked.

Per TVLine, it was announced on Tuesday that April 17 will mark the next Law & Order crossover event. On that day, the two-hour crossover event, blending Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU, will start at 8/7c. Details about the plot of the special crossover, consisting of one episode of the former and one of the latter, have also been revealed.

Law & Order Season 24, Episode 15 Review: Baxter’s Personal Life Becomes Public Drama

Law & Order Season 24, Episode 15, “Crossing Lines” is carried by Tony Goldwyn as Baxter’s love life falls victim to a very familiar TV problem.

The official logline reads, “Over the course of the crossover, a mysterious phone call to Capt. Benson of the SVU leads detectives to the scene of a brutal murder. When the SVU and the 2-7 uncover a pattern of rape and murder targeting marginalized women, Carisi and ADA Price team up to charge the suspect with multiple crimes.”

Law & Order: Organized Crime Will Air Its Premiere on NBC After All

There’s more good news for fans of the franchise. After the two-hour crossover event, NBC will also air the premiere episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime. This follows the previous news that the show had been renewed for a fifth season, but that it would be moving from NBC to Peacock to become a streaming series. The caveat is that only the premiere episode will air on NBC, while all additional episodes of the season, including a second episode also dropping on April 17, will be exclusive to Peacock.

‘She Takes Care of Everyone’: Law & Order: SVU Guest Star Shares What It’s Like to Work With Mariska Hargitay

Mariska Hargitay is a staple of the Law & Order franchise.

Teasing the upcoming fifth season, Elliot Stabler actor Christopher Meloni told Entertainment Weekly that the new episodes will be a “powerful” watch for “people who have followed the journey of Stabler, which is all about this driven cop in the cop world. We’ve been watching him do it for nearly two decades now, so with all his flaws, Stabler has become a cautionary tale.”

He also hinted about what Stabler has become, “If you want to be like me, it comes with the good and bad of everything that is, which is, you become nearly obsessed with the justice system, which is unjust. It’s a never-ending battle.”

This special event will mean a change in the viewing schedule for Found fans. That week, Found will instead air on Monday, April 14, at 10 pm. The next week, the show will return to its normal viewing schedule with new episodes dropping on Thursday evenings at 10 pm, starting on April 24.

The Law & Order special crossover event, joined by the Season 5 premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime, goes down on April 14, 2025.
