Aqueduct Marina near Nantwich has expanded its offerings with new glamping and camping accommodations, enhancing its appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and travelers.
The marina, situated along the Shropshire Union Canal, now features 10 glamping tents and additional pitches for tents, caravans, and motorhomes.
In addition to the new accommodations, the marina has introduced upgraded facilities, including a new toilet block with eight shower and toilet rooms, as well as pot washing stations.
Visitors with pets will also benefit from newly created dog walking routes and a dedicated dog washing facility, according to a report by Nantwich News.
The expansion includes activity-based offerings aimed at diversifying guest experiences. Two electric day boats are now available for hire, while weekend activities such as archery, axe throwing, and canoeing provide added recreational options.
Bushcraft skills sessions and live music performances by local musicians will also be featured on Saturday afternoons starting in June.
A spokesperson for Aqueduct Marina noted that the new developments are designed to accommodate a broad audience, stating:
“The new Marina Retreats aim to provide something for everyone and to give access to the waterways and the countryside to boaters and non-boaters alike.”
For outdoor hospitality operators, Aqueduct Marina’s expansion highlights the growing trend of marinas diversifying their offerings to attract a wider customer base.
By incorporating glamping, additional camping options, and experience-based activities, the site is positioning itself as a multi-faceted destination rather than solely a boating hub.
This model presents opportunities for businesses in the sector to enhance revenue streams by appealing to both traditional and non-traditional customers.
Since its opening in 2009, Aqueduct Marina has evolved from a former dairy farm into a multi-award-winning inland marina. Over the years, the site has expanded its services, including the launch of a caravan site in 2016.
The marina has received multiple industry accolades, including the TYHA Inland Marina of the Year award on four occasions, reflecting its commitment to service excellence.
