Bachelor Nation alum DeAnna Pappas has filed a restraining order against her ex-husband, Stephen Stagliano, accusing him of domestic violence in the wake of a dispute that resulted in her arrest.
The request revolves around the dispute in question, which occurred Feb. 26 when Stagliano appeared at Pappas’ home to pick up their daughter Addison, 11. According to a declaration filed in the case and reviewed by Entertainment Weekly, Stagliano’s mother claimed that she “smelled alcohol” on Pappas’ breath when she arrived at her home earlier that morning to help her grandson Austin, 9, get ready for school. When Stagliano arrived that evening, he asked to “smell my breath to make sure that I was not drunk,” Pappas recalled in a request for a domestic violence order, maintaining that she didn’t consume any alcohol.
Per the filed request, while walking back into her garage, Pappas claimed that Stagliano followed her and “pushed my garage door upward so that it would not close,” and continued to do so despite her asking him to leave. She alleged that he later grabbed and “forcefully shoved” her. When the police arrived, Pappas alleged in the request that Stagliano accused her of being drunk and attempted to press charges against her for domestic violence. Pappas further claimed that Stagliano alleged that she was the aggressor. Pappas was arrested but released that same day on bond.

“At no time was I requested to test for alcohol despite Stephen’s allegations,” Pappas said in the doc. “In fact, the officer that arrested me exhibited no concern that I was at all intoxicated.”
Pappas said she voluntarily submitted herself for drug and alcohol testing following her release, and tested negative for both. Her restraining order request, filed last week in Los Angeles, also cites other incidents of alleged domestic violence that date back as far as 2016.
Attorneys for Pappas and Stagliano didn’t immediately respond to EW’s request for comment Tuesday.
Pappas and Stagliano split in January 2023, after 11 years of marriage. Pappas made her Bachelor Nation debut on Brad Womack‘s season of The Bachelor in 2007. She headlined season 4 of The Bachelorette the following year and got engaged to contestant Jesse Csincsak, but the two split less than a year later. Pappas met Stagliano through his twin brother, Michael Stagliano, a fellow Bachelor Nation alum.
