This is a great portrayal of his bold and direct personality, as if he is unthreatened, yet prepared to jump right into action. In addition to this, dynamic movement is displayed through his clothing, which has been illustrated as if it is flowing in a gust of wind – adding more life to the image.

Houndoom is a Pokemon that radiates effortless cool, dark, and edgy energy, and this card perfectly captures such feelings. In this intense scene, Houndoom is pictured having emerged from a gloomy, foggy forest, and is staring directly at the viewer as flames flicker from the corners of its mouth.

This time around, Garchomp stands out for the clear, bold, and ferocious pose it displays as if it’s just been released from a Poke Ball into battle. The way in which the fin-like “wings” on its arms overlap the card border makes Garchomp pop even more as if it’s about to leap right out of the card and lunge in attack.

The bright, radiant golds and blacks combined with the rainbow holographic border and golden linework bring a very eye-catching, stylistic approach to the illustration, making it a brilliant portrayal of the Dragon and Ground Dual-Type.

Arceus ex

Arceus has multiple card variants within the Triumphant Light expansion, and this card is quite possibly the best of them all. Not only does it hold the highest rarity out of all cards in the expansion, but it also features a gorgeous full illustration of Arceus surrounded by a contrast of bright golds/oranges and pastel rainbows.

This paints Arceus in a very celestial light, capturing a feeling of divine judgment that the Mythical monster is known for. Furthermore, the gradient lighting shown in yellows and gold throughout the lineart of Arceus itself further enhances the lighting effects and helps the natural contrast of Arceus’ white body stand out as the focal point – creating a breathtaking card to look at.
