Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone received brand-new patch updates on Monday, February 3, bringing a handful of bug fixes to both titles. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 recently launched its highly anticipated Season 2 update, which added a plethora of new content and made plenty of gameplay adjustments, but now both titles have received yet another update that aims to address some important issues.

Season 2 of Black Ops 6 brought plenty of new content to Treyarch Studios’ latest shooter, including new maps, modes, weapons, operator bundles, and more. Even more content is set to be released with the game’s mid-season update, which is expected to arrive towards the end of February, but fans were most looking forward to all of the bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements that arrived with the new season. At the time of writing, Call of Duty is being blasted by fans as both Black Ops 6 and Warzone are riddled with cheaters and bugs. While Season 2 addressed some of players’ biggest issues, plenty of work still needs to be done.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has brought plenty of new maps to the title, with one map leaning into one of the game’s defining mechanics.

Thankfully, both Treyarch Studios and Raven Software (the respective developers of Black Ops 6 and Warzone) have deployed a new update for both Call of Duty titles. The latest patch brings changes to all three main game modes: Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. While there is no new content included in the update, there are some major fixes, including a fix for Black Ops 6‘s new Ranked Play cross-play feature which was resetting the settings when Call of Duty was restarted. Ranked Play in Black Ops 6 has also received another highly-anticipated feature: vote to forfeit. As of the February 3 update, players can now vote to end a match early and move on to the next game.

The latest update also brings a handful of improvements to Black Ops 6‘s new Zombies map, The Tomb, as well as some other general improvements. According to the official patch notes, which can be found further down this article, the February 3 update has addressed an issue where an Aether Lantern could be unbreakable if it was frozen before starting a Constellation puzzle. Treyarch has also patched an exploit where the Hand Canon was causing boosted damage well outside the range of designed balance.

As for Warzone players, there have been a fresh round of bug fixes and even some weapon balancing. Developer Raven Software has made some major adjustments to weapons such as the Model L, Jackal PDW, KSV, and the Feng 82, which is one of the game’s newest weapons available in the Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Battle Pass. Apart from the Jackal PDW, all of the aforementioned weapons have received slight buffs, the details of which can be found below.

Stability

Ranked Play

Vote to Forfeit is something we’ve wanted to get into Ranked Play for long time and we’re excited to see it getting added to the competitive experience with Season 02. We know it can be frustrating having to play out the rest of the match when a Ranked Play teammate quits and leaves your team shorthanded, or sometimes a match just isn’t going your team’s way. Vote to Forfeit makes it easy to end a match early, take the loss, and move on to the next game on your terms.

  • Vote to Forfeit

    • Vote to Forfeit allows players to vote with their team to end a match early if the team is getting blown out or if they’ve lost a teammate.
    • Forfeit Votes can be initiated via the in-game Options Menu. Each player can only initiate one Forfeit Vote per match.
    • Hold the assigned button/key to vote if another player on your team initiates a Vote.
    • Forfeited matches count as a standard Ranked Play loss and do not incur penalties or suspensions.
    • SR Loss Forgiveness will apply after Forfeited matches to prevent SR losses if a matchmade teammate had previously quit the Forfeited match.

ZOMBIES

Maps

  • The Tomb

    • Addressed an issue where an Aether Lantern could be unbreakable if it was frozen before starting a Constellation puzzle.

Support

We recently mentioned we’re focused on the player experience and not getting in the way of fun in Zombies, and we stand by that when it comes to creative strats and (most) speedrunning tactics. This was a case where an unintended exploit allowed players to trivialize parts of the mode we all love, and could cheapen the experience of reaching high rounds or completing the Main Quest, which should feel like an accomplishment.

We’re focused on closing exploits like these in the early days of each map to allow everyone to experience the level of challenge our designers intended. So before anyone asks: no, the zombies didn’t complain about this one. 🙂

  • Closed an exploit where the Hand Cannon was causing boosted damage well outside the range of designed balance.

  • Fixed an issue causing incorrect Ranked Play deployment fees to display for Iridescent and Top 250 players.
  • Fixed an issue causing some Challenges to disappear while navigating the Legacy section of the Armory.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Gold Competitor Operator Skin from being properly awarded in Ranked Play.
