Camp Elsewhere, a glamping destination in Waupaca, Wisconsin, is offering a midweek discount from May through October, aiming to attract more guests during non-peak days. 

The limited-time promotion applies to stays from Monday through Thursday and is designed to encourage families and groups to explore the outdoors while avoiding weekend crowds.

Situated between Gooseneck and McLean Lakes, Camp Elsewhere spans 55 acres of wilderness and offers various lodging options, event spaces, and recreational activities. 

The property, which was historically a children’s camp, restaurant, and resort, was revitalized by Eric and Kristen Hoopman and reopened in July 2023. 

The Hoopmans, who have a track record of restoring historic properties, integrated modern comforts with rustic charm to create a destination that blends luxury with outdoor adventure.

“Whether you’re visiting for a family vacation, a getaway with friends, or a reunion, there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” said Kristen Hoopman, co-owner of Camp Elsewhere and the Elsewhere Collection, in a press release

“With a perfect mix of outdoor activities, access to relax in nature, and luxurious accommodations, Camp Elsewhere provides the ideal setting for guests to reconnect and make lasting memories with each other.”

For outdoor hospitality business owners, Camp Elsewhere’s strategy offers insight into guest demand trends. 

By encouraging midweek stays, the business maximizes occupancy rates outside of peak travel times—a practice that can be especially beneficial for operators looking to optimize revenue and balance operational efficiency. 

As midweek bookings typically lag behind weekend reservations, discounts and targeted promotions can serve as effective tools for filling vacancies and increasing profitability.

The property’s accommodations include luxury cabins that sleep six to eight guests, glamping tents, and vintage trailers, each outfitted with modern conveniences such as air conditioning, private bathrooms, and kitchen amenities. 

The site also features hiking trails, a private beach with water activities, fire pits, and a recreation hall, catering to a range of guest preferences. Beyond the camp, visitors have access to local attractions, including Waupaca’s Main Street, river tubing, and mini-golf.

Camp Elsewhere’s inclusion in The Elsewhere Collection, a hospitality brand founded in 2018, aligns with a broader trend of curating unique, high-end travel experiences.
