Canadian RVing and Camping Week expanded from a single week to a month-long event, now set to take place from June 1 to June 30.
The initiative aims to increase participation, media exposure, and political engagement, while promoting Canada’s RV and camping sector through coordinated events and promotions nationwide.
The Canadian Camping and RV Council (CCRVC) emphasized that extending the celebration offers new opportunities for campgrounds, RV parks, and the wider outdoor hospitality sector.
By spreading the festivities across June, businesses can host multiple events and promotions, attracting more visitors during the peak season.
“This initiative will continue to include a charitable component to support Care Camps, further aligning the camping community with giving back to those in need,” a press release indicated.
Campground owners and operators are encouraged to organize special activities such as family fun days, outdoor movie nights, and adventure weekends. Partnerships with local businesses for activities like guided hikes and kayaking tours are also recommended to enhance guest experiences.
The CCRVC will support participants by providing a marketing toolkit that includes social media templates, branded flyers, and promotional hashtags such as #RVandCampingMonth. This approach aims to create a cohesive national marketing effort to elevate awareness across various platforms.
Special offers and discounted packages are also expected to play a key role in attracting both new and returning campers. Campground operators can take advantage of these promotions to drive occupancy rates and boost seasonal revenue.
In keeping with tradition, Canadian RV and Camping Month will feature a charitable component supporting Care Camps, a foundation that helps children with cancer attend specialized summer camps. Operators are encouraged to host fundraisers or donate proceeds to further this cause.
“The celebration marks the official kickoff of Canada’s summer camping season. Canadian park owners put their own twist on celebrating the return of their campers during the month, it may be through events, discounted overnight fees, or fun activities,” the event indicated.
