The Caravan and Motorhome Club has expanded its European network, adding 26 new campsites for 2025, bringing its total offering to over 350 sites across 16 countries.

This expansion presents new opportunities for outdoor hospitality operators to observe emerging trends in international camping and travel preferences.

Among the new additions is Riis Feriepark in Denmark, a family-run site in Jutland opening on April 12.

Managed by English-speaking owners, the site offers hiking trails and proximity to attractions such as Legoland and Givskud Safari Park

Similarly, Camping La Pinède Excenevex in France, opening on April 3, provides direct access to Lake Geneva’s only sandy beach and is close to major destinations like Evian and Yvoire.

In Germany, Knaus Campingpark Bleckede will open on March 1, located in the UNESCO biosphere reserve of the Elbe Valley.

This site offers access to nature-based activities like birdwatching and hiking, reflecting the increasing demand for eco-tourism experiences.

Italy’s Camping Village Lago Maggiore, celebrating 50 years under family management, continues to enhance its facilities, including a new pool area and expanded recreational options, signaling the trend of reinvesting in well-established properties to remain competitive.

For outdoor hospitality businesses, these developments highlight the importance of diversification and site enhancements to meet traveler expectations.

Operators can also observe the growing preference for sites offering year-round appeal. Camping Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, for instance, is set in a spa town with seasonal activities ranging from hiking to skiing.

Meanwhile, Camping Lago Barasona in Spain caters to both summer tourists and adventure travelers exploring the Pyrenees, showcasing the value of strategic location selection.

Beyond accommodations, the Club offers members competitive travel rates, including ferry discounts and a price-match guarantee, demonstrating the significance of added-value services in attracting repeat customers, as per a press release.

These industry trends—enhanced amenities, nature-driven tourism, and flexible travel services—underscore evolving consumer expectations, which are thoroughly backed by this month’s MC Hospitality Highlights report.

Outdoor hospitality professionals can leverage these insights to refine their offerings, ensuring their businesses remain relevant in an increasingly competitive landscape.
