Nearly three years after the first season of the series concluded in December 2022, international Chainsaw Man fans will finally get to see more of the anime as Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc comes to theaters worldwide.

Via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, Sony Pictures has announced it will be releasing Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc in the U.S. beginning Oct. 29, 2025. The news was initially announced during Sony’s CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas; the release will come roughly a month after the film is released theatrically in Japan on Sept. 19, as revealed during AnimeJapan 2025.

Chainsaw Man Anime Finally Returns to U.S. Screens After Nearly 3 Years With New Movie

MAPPA’s upcoming Chainsaw Man film is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who previously directed Episodes 4 and 10 of the series and was responsible for its action animation direction; he is also known for his key animation on Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and for directing much of Black Clover. Other major returning staff names include Hiroshi Seko as screenwriter (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dandadan) and Kazutaka Sugiyama as character designer (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation). The film’s most recent trailer can be seen below.

Excluding Japan, Sony has acquired worldwide theatrical rights for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, with the movie slated to be released in over 80 countries beginning Sept. 24. Crunchyroll currently streams the series, officially describing the anime: “Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as ‘Chainsaw Man’ — a man with a devil’s heart.”
