  • Delta Air Lines is adding its first flight to the popular Moroccan city of Marrakech
  • It is also adding a seasonal flight to Accra, Ghana, and leaning into its Austin expansion with a new route to Cancun and increased service to Orlando

Delta Air Lines closed out the month of February with some exciting new international routes for its loyal passengers in the coming year.

Starting October 25, Delta will launch its first flight to Morocco. The new journey will depart from Atlanta and arrive in the popular destination of Marrakech. On December 20, the airline will also add a daily flight between Austin and Cancun. A seasonal connection between Atlanta and Accra, Ghana will start on December 1.

“Delta’s new service to Marrakech and added flights to Accra strengthen our presence in Africa, offering more opportunities for customers to enjoy our award-winning service and premium onboard experience,” said Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, in a statement shared with Travel+Leisure. “Whether discovering Morocco or reconnecting with loved ones in Ghana, these routes enhance our network while reinforcing Atlanta’s role as the world’s largest global hub.”

Delta also announced it will expand service between Orlando (MCO) and Austin to twice-weekly next winter.

The new routes offer options for travelers in Austin and Atlanta to easily access warm winter destinations during the colder months. Cancun is famous for its long stretches of white sand beachfront, celebrated cuisine, nightlife, and entertainment options, as well as its many luxury all-inclusive resorts, including Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun.

Marrakech is best known for its ancient medina, the intricate tilework found in the Bahia Palace, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Jardin Majorell, and its fragrant cuisine. The area boasts family-friendly activities like camel riding in the nearby Agafay Desert, and artfully renovated boutique riads to stay in like Rosemary.
