Demi Lovato knows how to take a joke — especially if her fiancé is laughing along with her.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer proved her sense of humor in a recent TikTok with a little help from AI, and her partner Jordan “Jutes” Lute.

“Okay, so I asked ChatGPT to roast me,” Lovato, who uses she/her and they/them pronouns, began the video. “And Jordan’s gonna read it.”

Sitting behind the singer, Jutes stifled a laugh as he began reading the ChatGPT rant.

“Roast Demi Lovato? Oh, you mean the artist formerly known as ‘Confident’ but now more like Confused?” he said, referencing her 2015 single of the same name. “Demi Lovato has had more rebrands than a failing fast-food chain. One minute they’re punk rock, the next they’re singing pop ballads, and somewhere in between they’re beefing with a frozen yogurt shop.

Both Lovato and Jutes broke into laughter at the mention of her 2021 beef with The Bigg Chill, a Los Angeles-based fro-yo shop that Lovato criticized for promoting diet culture with “harmful messaging” on some of its in-store products. She later issued an apology when the business pointed out that many of it’s products were advertised to those with dietary restrictions.

But the fro-yo feud should be the least of Lovato’s worries, according to the AI program, which continued taking aim at them for constantly exploring new music genres.

“Like babes, just pick a lane or at least a consistent genre,” Jutes continued.

“And let’s not even talk about their song lyrics. What’s wrong with being confident? Nothing Demi, but what’s wrong with being consistent?” Jutes read. “Because your career path is giving throwing darts at a vision board while blindfolded.”

He added, “But hey, credit where credit is due, Demi’s voice is undeniable. If only their decision-making skills were as strong as their vocal cords.”

Lovato didn’t hesitate to point out the silver lining in ChatGPT’s criticisms, immediately asking, “So you think I’m a good singer?”

Lovato and Jutes announced their engagement in December 2023, after first crossing paths while working on music for her 2022 album, Holy Fvck. The Canadian indie rocker co-wrote several tracks on the record, including “Substance,” “Happy Ending,” and “City of Angels.” In August 2022, an insider confirmed that the singer was in a “happy and healthy” new relationship.
