Dutch designer Duran Lantink has been announced as the winner of the 2025 International Woolmark Prize. He will receive AU$300,000 ($126,000) to put towards business development.

“We are in a moment when we need to feel better. Duran makes us feel that. His collection is a wonderful combination of respect for the fibre and a joyful sense of the future,” said designer Donatella Versace, who chaired the panel of judges including IB Kamara, Law Roach, Alessandro Sartorti, Tim Blanks, Sinéad Burke and Honey Dijon.

Pieter Mulier, creative director of Alaïa, recieved the Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation and wool supplier Südwolle Group won the Supply Chain award.

Lantink’s star has been on the rise for years. Last year, he won LVMH’s Karl Lagerfeld Prize. His Autumn/Winter 2025 collection presented in Paris in March centred around the topic of “form as style,” and featured dramatic silhouettes and animal prints — and his choice to open with a female model in a silicone six-pack and close with a male model donning silicone breasts created a viral stir.
