T for Teen: Animated Blood, Comic Mischief, Fantasy Violence, Language

It Takes Two is one of the greatest co-op games ever made, featuring a surprisingly compelling narrative revolving around a couple with intense marital issues and their child who wants things to go back to how they were. This leads to a curse affecting her parents, who must go through several grueling trials to regain their human forms.

The inventive gameplay of It Takes Two is its biggest strength, but the narrative has some fun moments too. It may be a bit too melodramatic and convenient at times, but convincing performances and memorable set-pieces ensure that players will be able to ignore most of these writing missteps.

M for Mature: Blood, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language

Despite the problems it faced in development, the strong writing and fun combat of Dragon Age: Inquisition helped it stand out as one of the better games in the series. Leading the Inquisition and trying to stop Corypheus by any means necessary is a huge part of what makes the experience so memorable in the eyes of many.

It helps that the writing in Inquisition helps most of its companions feel great to use, even if others may get the short end of the stick. Even after players kill off the final threat, they’re treated to a plot twist for the ages that builds up a ton of intrigue, even if players had to acquire the Trespasser DLC to witness the story’s proper conclusion.

Titanfall 2

Boasts A Surprisingly Great Narrative With A Memorable Partnership

Systems

Released

October 28, 2016

ESRB

M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Language, Violence

The first Titanfall game boasted great movement and combat, but the lack of content coupled with a missing single-player campaign didn’t sit right with many. This is why Titanfall 2 was such a pleasant surprise for fans, who were treated to one of the greatest stories told in an FPS campaign.

BT and Jack’s relationship is the heart of a magical experience, with the combat and movement being smoother than ever before. It’s a shame that the game underperformed commercially since players were robbed of checking out more compelling stories in the Titanfall universe.
