College Football 25 was an instant success for EA. The game moved over 2.2 million copies in just three days across the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. EA didn’t develop Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions of the football sim, making the sales even more impressive. College Football 25 also reportedly earned the publisher a whopping $200 million on the advanced $100 Digital Deluxe copy of the game.

Even after its initial release, College Football 25 would continue to roll (tide). It carried sales momentum throughout the remainder of 2024. In October, the game became the bestselling football title of all time in the United States. The publisher made a deal to compensate student-athletes who would be featured in the game and confirmed that a new college football entry was in the works. A few years later, console players were finally back on the virtual gridiron.
Amazon and Best Buy’s deal on College Football 25 is an impressive one. The long-awaited NCAA football game typically costs $70 to score. However, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 players can get onto the field for just $10 for a limited time.
Due to 25‘s resounding success, EA confirmed that College Football 26 is happening later this year. One of the prominent criticisms of 25 upon release was that it lacked the depth and fan-favorite features that previously appeared in the NCAA series. College Football 26 will no doubt further build upon the bones of this year’s exciting blueprint. One such addition will reportedly be the series’ Mascot Mode.
