Two days after Jon Stewart cut his hand while on an animated DOGE rant on The Daily Show, Elon Musk, tech billionaire and one of President Donald Trump‘s advisers, has agreed to go on his show — all it took was a little blood.

The host of the Comedy Central series sliced open his hand when he smashed a coffee mug on Monday’s show while expressing his frustration over prescription drug prices and government spending in general. The episode also looked at how indiscriminate budget cuts that Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency — or DOGE — is making have affected average people working for the organizations losing funding.

After X users called for Musk to appear on Stewart’s show, he responded, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.” The show’s official account replied, “We’d be delighted!”

The day after the incident, Stewart and his team shared a video of what happened on the set of the Emmy-winning show after the mug shattered. “You know, it’s important to remember who the real heroes are,” Stewart quipped, as crew members cleaned up the mess.

He reminded viewers that this was the second time he had cut himself to the point where he needed stitches in the name of physical comedy.

“It was a margarita blender with me and [John] Oliver, and I hit it down and just drew blood, and Oliver couldn’t have been happier,” Stewart explained. “I’d never seen anything like it. He sat there gleefully watching, and that was more of an artery that was just spurting everywhere, and at one point he yells at me, ‘It’s just a flesh wound! Stop making such a big deal of it!'”

When the British-born comedian crashed the Feb. 11 Daily Show episode “to welcome America to its monarchy era,” Stewart asked if Oliver, who previously served as a writer and correspondent on The Daily Show for seven years, planned to “offer America your wisdom and counsel” amid the Trump administration’s most recent machinations. the Last Week Tonight host snapped back: “Oh, no, no, no, Jon. I am here to gloat.”

“America had its little fun, didn’t you? Experimenting with democracy. You fought so hard to get away from us, acting up, throwing all that tea into the harbor — you still owe us for that, by the way,” Oliver scolded.

The British “sat back” and watched as the U.S. declared that it was going to be “different” and not “turn out like your mean old dad,” Oliver said. “We let you spend your wild teen years experimenting with your ridiculous ideas of checks and balances because, deep down, we knew that once you got that nonsense out of your system — you’d be back.”

When Stewart suggested that the “imperial model” wasn’t a good fit for the United States, Oliver countered, “Have you seen anything America has done over the last 50 years? Because for a country that doesn’t want to be an empire, you’re doing a pretty f—ing good impression of one right now,” he replied. “Invasions, economic exploitations, and now suggesting turning Gaza into a beachfront casino? Even King George would have been like ‘I don’t know guys, feels like the situation is a bit more complicated than that and I’m literally dying of medieval brain disease.’”
