Four Seasons has introduced its first all-inclusive resort in North America with Naviva, a luxury glamping destination located on Punta Mita, Mexico.
The resort, which opened in December 2022, features 15 tented accommodations designed to blend high-end hospitality with immersive nature experiences.
Unlike traditional all-inclusive resorts, Naviva focuses on personalization, exclusivity, and a deep connection to the natural surroundings.
Catering exclusively to adults, Naviva eliminates televisions from its accommodations, encouraging guests to disconnect from daily life, according to a report by The New York Post.
The resort spans 48 acres and offers a minimalist approach to communal spaces, featuring a small open-air spa, an outdoor gym with stone-carved weights, a restaurant with an adjacent private beach, and lounge areas with ocean views.
Hiking trails, yoga and meditation spaces, and seasonal whale-watching opportunities further integrate the resort into its coastal jungle setting.
Designed as an alternative to traditional luxury hotels, including the existing Four Seasons Punta Mita property nearby, Naviva’s appeal lies in its curated experiences.
From the moment guests book their stay, a concierge tailors an itinerary to match their preferences, ensuring a highly individualized visit.
Activities range from spearfishing, wilderness hikes, and Mexican boxing lessons to personalized spa treatments and private cooking classes with Chef Sofía Mojica. Dining includes meals prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and organic wines from female-run vineyards.
“The idea was to create an environment where guests feel like they’re staying at a friend’s home, with all the luxuries and service of a Four Seasons property,” a representative from Naviva stated.
The resort’s design, which incorporates a bamboo lattice entryway leading to a biophilic-inspired welcome area, sets the tone for a tranquil, nature-focused retreat.
Among the unique offerings is the traditional temazcal ceremony, a guided sweat lodge experience led by a shaman, intended to purify the mind and body.
“It’s a highly recommended way to set the tone for your Naviva journey,” a resort spokesperson explained. The ritual takes place in complete darkness, with rising heat from lava rocks intensifying the meditative experience.
Naviva’s luxury glamping concept aligns with a growing trend in the outdoor hospitality industry, where high-end travelers seek sustainable yet immersive nature experiences.
For operators in the sector, the resort’s approach underscores the potential for blending eco-conscious design with premium service offerings.
As demand for upscale outdoor accommodations continues to rise, Naviva serves as an example of how glamping resorts can position themselves at the intersection of exclusivity, personalization, and environmental integration.
While the concept of high-end glamping is not new, Naviva’s model sets a benchmark for all-inclusive luxury within this space.
With nightly rates starting at $3,300 for solo travelers and $4,100 for double occupancy, the resort caters to a niche yet growing market segment willing to invest in experiential travel.
Its success may influence future developments within the luxury outdoor hospitality industry, encouraging operators to explore personalized, nature-centric experiences as a competitive differentiator.
