Through October 2025, the Institute for the Study of Resilience in Youth ( ISRY) invites grade 6 to 8 STEM educators and researchers in school-based and out-of-school-time settings to FREE online professional learning on the new Dimensions of Success for Middle Grades Learning Engineering and Science (DoS-MiddLES) classroom focused observation system. The new DoS-MiddLES builds off the original Dimensions of Success for Out-of-School-Time (DoS-OST) system developed in 2009 under The PEAR Institute (NSF Awards #2101554, #1008591). Participants can receive a certificate of completion for up to 20 hours of professional development, a chance to receive a $25 gift card, and connections with a national community of learners and our research team. Our next LIVE session is scheduled for February 20, 6-7:30pm ET over Zoom, with more opportunities planned for Summer 2025 ( CLICK HERE for our registration form). Synchronous and asynchronous opportunities, including personalized sessions for groups of 10-15 educators, are available on the topics of: 1) using classroom observations to support continuous growth and 2) integrating resilience and thriving skills into middle grade STEM learning experiences.
