Moreover, companies such as Sony have made some great features to enhance the flavor of their games. One such add-on is the adaptive triggers in PlayStation 5, which make the already realistic games more lifelike. Many PS5 titles utilize this technology optimally, which makes for a more immersive experience indeed. These PS5 adaptive triggers can change the way players interact with these titles in the eyes of many, with some games being better at utilizing the strength of the DualSense controllers than others.

Updated on February 7, 2025, by Mehrdad Khayyat: Aside from a big technological leap in the core hardware to run games better and faster than its predecessors, PlayStation 5 also introduced a new dimension to gaming with the DualSense controllers and the haptic feedback triggers.

While many games let the player see or do things they would love to, the player would barely feel the game’s universe, and haptic feedback goes after that! Allowing players to feel what it’s like to pull a trigger, chop down a tree, or drive a car.

Wreckfest is one of the best driving games players can check out if they want to check out something new. Sure, there are regular races in the game, but it’s the vehicular combat of this title that makes it such a blast to play through. Players must strategize and take out opposing racers while ensuring that their car remains safe and sound.

This is easier said than done, but the game’s excellent feedback model ensures that players are acutely aware of the damage their car is incurring. The game does a great job of integrating the PS5’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, letting players feel every bump in the road and the impact of two cars coming together in a massive collision.

Came out as one of the highly popular indie titles on PS5, Kena: Bridge of Spirits delivered more than anyone may have expected from an indie studio, especially when it comes to using the new DualSense features.

The game’s most iconic use of haptic feedback is when the player shoots an arrow. The stiffness in the right trigger makes the player really feel the strain of the bow just before releasing the arrow.

But that’s not all. Kena: Bridge of Spirits also comes with unique navigational feedback. Whenever there is a collectible, DualSense begins vibrating, but it only vibrates on the side where the collectible is located. So, if it’s on the player’s left, the left side of the controller will gently vibrate.
