Halle Bailey‘s No. 1 fan may now be her son, Halo.
The actress and singer shared an endearing clip of her 14-month-old child as he watched her in the 2023 live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid — and quickly registered that it was his own mama on the screen.
“Guys, I’m crying. He actually knows Ariel is me,” Bailey captioned the clip of the moment, which she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Bailey welcomed Halo, her first child, with ex-boyfriend DDG in January 2024.
One half of the Grammy-nominated sister R&B duo Chloe x Halle, Bailey played the first Black Ariel in The Little Mermaid, the star-studded live-action remake from Rob Marshall that also boasted Javier Bardem as King Triton and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. It made a big splash at the box office, grossing more than $560 million worldwide, and also on Disney+, where it broke records to become one of the most watched premieres in its first week of streaming.

Her turn as Ariel was followed by the role of a young Nettie in another remake of a beloved title, 2023’s The Color Purple, in which she starred opposite Fantasia Barrino, Colman Domingo, Taraji P. Henson, and Danielle Brooks.
Bailey has also since embarked on a solo musical career, earning her first Grammy nomination as a solo artist at this year’s ceremony, for Best R&B Song for her single “Angel.”
Speaking with PEOPLE at the NAACP Image Awards last month, Bailey’s sister Chloe shared that young Halo is, like his mother and auntie, already musically inclined. “He’s singing, he’s dancing a lot,” said the proud aunt. “He’s making beats in his kids’ beats machine … that’s going to be my little mini-producer, my little mini-me.”
