Dr. Holder is no different, although his motives are a tad more altruistic as he wants to take down Oberon once and for all.
Getting Dr. Holder’s ending will require you to delve down into the depths of The Interchange to recover a sample of Oberon. This guide will show you how to find Dr. Holder and how to enact his plan to destroy that evil purple meteorite.

How To Find Dr. Holder In Atomfall
Dr. Holder will be living in the cellar of the St. Katherine’s Church in Wyndham Village. However, the door to the cellar will be locked, and no one in the church knows where the key has gone. To find the key, you need to power up The Interchange, and then make your way inside the Medical department. Then turn right at the Pneumatic Tube in Reception, take another right into a small alcove, and you’ll find the Church Cellar Key next to an audio log.
Now you can unlock the church cellar and enter Dr. Holder’s lab. Speak with him, and you’ll be able to tell by his blue eyes and skin that he’s been infected by Oberon. He’ll tell you all about his research into Oberon, and he’ll offer to help you escape. But first, you’ll need to retrieve something called Sample One. This is a piece of Oberon that Holder needs and it’s located in the lower level of Medical.
He’ll give you his keycard, and you’ll be able to go down to Medical’s Auditorium where you’ll find Sample One sitting next to an infected corpse. Take it back to Dr. Holder, and he’ll tell you that his plan is to use the sample to create a toxin that will kill Oberon. He’ll need time to work on it, which gives you ample time to get The Interchange up and running.
Behind the area where you get Sample One will be the entrance to the Medical Tunnels. You’ll need to get down there later, so keep that in mind.
Should You Trust Dr. Holder To Help You Escape?
To administer Dr. Holder’s poison, you need to reach Oberon. To do that, you need to use an Atomic Battery to power up The Interchange’s Central Processor Room. Then you’ll have to reactivate Data Stores A, B, C, and D with Atomic Batteries. This will let you restart the Central Processor, which will open up the way to Oberon.
Dr. Holder will eventually end up in the Central Processor Room sometime after you give him Sample One. He’ll give you the Poisoned Sample One, which is what you’ll use to kill Oberon. You’ll now need to make the trek over to the dig site.
The way to Oberon will take you through an area full of Thralls, Ferals, infected plant life, and blue mist that can inflict the infected status on you. If you haven’t learned the Strange Tonic recipe yet, you should find that before going to Oberon so you can cure yourself of infection.
Once you reach the Oberon Dig Site, your job is to spread the poison. There will be a building in front of the purple meteorite that is Oberon. Head inside, watch out for Thralls, and then make your way to the Control Room. Take the exit out of this room to the left and find the Fire Safety Fluid Input. It’ll be a mechanism with a hole where you will insert the Poisoned Sample One.
To spread this poison over Oberon, you’ll next need to turn two Fire Safety System Valves. These will look like yellow structures set up on both sides of the Oberon meteorite. This won’t be a simple task as there will be three B.A.R.D. Robots armed with flamethrowers patrolling the area. You’ll have to either destroy them or sneak past them to access these valves. Turn them both and return to the Control Room. There will be a lever that activates the Fire Safety System. Pull it and the poison will be sprayed onto Oberon.
Now it’s time to run back to The Interchange as the entire facility begins to crumble. There will several angry druids standing in your way including a rather furious Mother Jago. When you arrive at the Interchange, Dr. Holder will have relocated to the Medical Tunnels. Go down into the depths of Medical to reach the Medical Tunnels. There will be some Thralls hanging around, so take them out or sneak past them.

Should You Trust Joyce Tanner In Atomfall?
Joyce Tanner is a shady character in Atomfall who promises to get you out of the quarantine zone. But can you trust her?
There will be a crack in the wall covered in infected plant life. Squeeze through it and you’ll find Dr. Holder standing by a door. He’ll congratulate you on killing Oberon. He’ll then explain that both of you need to find a place to hide out because you’re likely to be apprehended by the government and used as research specimens due to the infection. You’ll then help him open the way out, which will take you to a long ladder leading down into an oubliette.
It’s hard to say whether this is a successful escape from the quarantine zone. You do destroy Oberon, but as the voice on the phone says during the ending, Dr. Holder’s plan only extended as far as destroying Oberon. So Dr. Holder seems trustworthy, but getting his ending means you might be stuck in a basement with a weird, blue-skinned guy for a long time.
