“Instead of craving perfection, start working with the fact that imperfection is unavoidable.”

Quotes like this that celebrate self-care, healing and achieving inner peace ooze from Diego Perez’s Instagram account.

At 36, the meditator and bestselling author has emerged as a globally recognised self-help guru, writing under the pen name Yung Pueblo, which is Spanish for “young people”.

He has built a devoted audience. His books, which include Lighter: Let Go of the Past, Connect with the Present, and Expand the Future, and Clarity and Connection, have sold over 1.5 million copies in 25 languages. Meanwhile, he has garnered over 3 million followers on his Instagram account, @yung_pueblo, where he regularly shares his insights.

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, he spoke to the Post about his new book, How to Love Better: The Path to Deeper Connection Through Growth, Kindness, and Compassion, scheduled for release in March.

The book tackles the subject he is asked about most: love and relationships, specifically how to make relationships stronger, healthier and less conflict-ridden. Much of it draws from his experiences with his wife, Sara, and how his commitment to personal growth transformed their 17-year relationship.
