Keep the champagne and your ballot of predictions handy, because it’s Oscars time.
The 97th annual Academy Awards are coming to a television, smartphone, and streaming setup near you tonight. Master of ceremonies Conan O’Brien (taking his first swing at Oscars hosting duties) and announcer Nick Offerman (also his first time in the role) will oversee the celebration in the year’s best and brightest in film.
Adrien Brody (The Brutalist) will fight to hold onto his record as the youngest-ever Best Actor winner against newly-minted SAG Award winner Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) in the same category this year, as Demi Moore (The Substance) contends with Mikey Madison (Anora) and underdog Fernanda Torres (I’m Still Here) in a tight Best Actress race. Meanwhile, each of their films, plus Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, Nickel Boys, and Wicked vie for the accolade above all other accolades: Best Picture.
Speaking of the Oz-based musical, its Oscar-nominated stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, will take the stage to perform, as will Doja Cat, Raye, and Lisa of Blackpink, plus Queen Latifah in a tribute to late music producer and 2025 honorary Oscar awardee Quincy Jones.
But first, let’s get the most important detail of the evening squared away. Read on to learn everything you need to know about how to watch the 2025 Oscars.
