As someone who flies nearly 30 times a year, I have slowly but surely perfected my travel uniform. It usually consists of the same sweatpants and a cozy crewneck to keep me warm under the harsh plane air conditioning.

The Uggs are a slightly updated and shorter version of the original design that I wore on repeat in middle school. They’re even comfier than I remember, too. The inside of the shoe is lined with plush sheepskin and fleece that molds to my feet for the perfect fit. The soft fur insole feels like I’m walking clouds, even when I’m tasked with trekking to the furthest terminal at JFK International Airport. 

Not only do the boots provide complete warmth, which I require as a chronically cold person, but they also have a pre-treated suede fabric on the outside that’s water-resistant and wicks away moisture. This feature came in handy when visiting the Swiss Alps late last year — and then, when I proceeded to spill my entire overpriced airport water bottle on myself during the flight home.

I also love how versatile the style can be. The Uggs are so casual that I can wear them with athleisure or sweats, but they can just as easily be dressed up with jeans, a skirt, or a dress — and still feel like I’m wearing slippers. This makes packing so much easier, too. I can toss them on for the flight and still wear them on repeat once I arrive at my destination.
