Season 3 of the hit TV series Invincible has finally returned for its third season, which has been suggested to be the biggest one yet – the show has heavily teased the “Invincible Wars” comic arc. With everything gearing up towards Mark Grayson’s (Steven Yeun) biggest battle yet, fans are surely already thinking of Season 4.

After the long wait for Season 2, fans doubtlessly still have some nerves about having to put in another long wait for the fourth outing. This fear can be assuaged a little, as it’s been confirmed that development on the season 4 is already underway with one major cast member already having put in some time in the studio.

Season 3 Moving The Story Closer to Major Comic Conflicts

Season 3 of Invincible opened strong, and not just by demonstrating Mark’s new strength levels – we got to see Mark separate himself from Cecil, the splintering of the Guardians of the Globe, Oliver taking his first superhero steps and even a beloved comic couple finally get together. All in all, the first episodes brought fans back into the Invincible-verse with some heavy-hitting episodes.

However, relating to heavy hitters, it is worth mentioning the Viltrumites. So far, fans haven’t caught up much with the Galaxy dominating super-beings, though episode 4 will show us what Nolan and Allen have been up to since they got put in a Viltrumite prison. The Viltrumites have so far been quiet this season, though fans know that soon they will likely see Conquest – the iron-fisted monster on screen for the first time and see Mark’s first real battle with one of his own.

Seeing more of Omni-Man and Invincible’s people and expanding on the Viltrumite characters is something fans have yearned for since Season 3 was announced, and whilst it’s been confirmed Nolan will be making plenty of appearances alongside Allan the Alien (Seth Rogen), it seems like fans won’t be losing this Earth’s version of Superman anytime soon.

J.K. Simmons Has Already Started Recording Lines For Season 4

Whilst the current season is far from over, it won’t be long before fans will eagerly post on X, TikTok, and all other forms of social media their demands for Season 4 – which sounds like it’s already ahead of schedule. Omni-Man voice actor J.K. Simmons spoke to Collider about the progress made on Season 4 from his end.

“We actually have, dipped our toes. Or at least I have into the next season,” he said. ” And I’m looking forward to… I don’t know when in the next coming months, but looking forward to getting back in the studio again.”

Simmons also spoke a little about Season 3 and his arc with Allen the Alien which he believes is an interesting and fresh dynamic for Nolan.

“Well, it’s unexpected, I hope,” he said. “And I’m always loath to even get close to any spoilers, but I loved the whole season, the whole third season and, exploring the relationship between Omni-Man and Allen the Alien that, you know, based on the first two seasons, you know, there was a continuing surprise to me. And also getting to play scenes with Seth Rogen was, you know, even though we were never in the room at the same time, I did get to respond to what Seth had already laid down a few times.”

Invincible Seasons 1 & 2 are streaming now on Prime Video, with Season 3 episodes dropping weekly.
