Comedy legend John Candy‘s son makes a stealth cameo in Ben Affleck‘s 2025 Super Bowl commercial for Dunkin’.

Chris Candy, one of the late actor and comedian’s two children, briefly appears in a rival group of Affleck’s reformed boy band DunKings in the ad that aired during the big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs over the weekend. An extended YouTube version, however, provides a closer look at the young Candy’s role as a member of the Burger Chain Gang.

Candy dons an orange jumpsuit and a giant burger costume at the Java Jam, where the DunKings prepare for a roast battle with fictional rival coffee brands. The Burger Chain Gang appears around the three-minute mark of the extended commercial below. “Past 11, past your breakfast time — you shut down, you closed,” quips Affleck at the sight of the Burger Chain Gang.

“Hey! You want a sip of me?” asks the member in a giant coffee cup costume.

“Coffee and a cheeseburger,” a sarcastic Affleck replies. “That makes sense. Hamburger head, you still on parole over there?”

Candy’s character, the cheeseburger, then responds, “You don’t know my life. You don’t know what I’ve been through.”

Candy — a musician and, like his late father, actor — spoke to TMZ about his involvement, revealing that he initially had no idea the commercial he auditioned for would air during the Super Bowl. He also noted that star and director Affleck and co. were oblivious to his family ties.

“I went in stealth and left stealth, except with the guys I worked with,” said Candy. “The actors who were in the Burger Chain Gang, we were chatting about my father and they were super big fans. It was nice to trade stories with them.”

Candy also said that he believed his father, who died in March 1994 from a heart attack at the age of 43, would have been proud as a football fan. (The late Candy was also part-owner of Canadian football team Toronto Argonauts during the early ’90s.) Was the Canadian comedian a Dunkin’ fan? His son pointed to another popular chain with roots in Canada. “He was probably more of a Tim Hortons fan than a Dunkin’ fan,” said Candy with a laugh.
