Ke Huy Quan reunited with Harrison Ford on the set of The Goonies — but the experience wasn’t particularly fun for one of them.

Quan reflected on his Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom costar visiting him while he was shooting The Goonies in a new interview with The Guardian. “I was starstruck when Harrison Ford came to visit because I’d made Indy,” the Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar winner recalled.

The actor added that Steven Spielberg — who directed Temple of Doom and served as a writer and an executive producer on The Goonies — set up an elaborate prank in anticipation of Ford’s visit. “Spielberg played a big joke on him,” Quan recalled. “There was a biography out of him that he really hated, so Steven went out and bought about 300 copies, so that when Harrison came to visit and walked on to set, the security guard, the gaffers, the camera equipment people, everybody was reading that biography.”

The Love Hurts star also recalled another A-list entertainer at the time dropping by. “I remember when we were told that Michael Jackson was going to visit,” Quan said. “The cast and crew were so excited. We didn’t know what time he was arriving, so we were constantly looking over our shoulder. Sure enough, when he walked on to the set, everybody just stopped what they were doing — even the guy making the coffee.”

Quan said the “Thriller” singer seemed “very shy” on set. “I think we made him nervous because there were so many people,” he speculated. “Then we took those photos that you see on the internet. We were so giddy that he was there. He gave us tickets to watch him perform in Los Angeles, and gave us all a jacket, which some of us still have. Somehow I lost mine, which I’m very mad at myself for.”

Quan recently discussed reuniting with his fellow Goonie Sean Astin in their new film, Love Hurts. “We were just thinking, ‘Okay, how do we give a little nod to all those incredible Goonies fans?'” Quan told Entertainment Weekly, noting that the duo worked a subtle Goonies Easter egg into the movie. “Because over the years, the most asked question [we get is], ‘Will we ever have a Goonies sequel?'”

The answer now is yes. Warner Bros. announced Friday that it’s actively developing The Goonies 2, with Spielberg among the upcoming project’s producers. Quan has not commented on the news yet, so no word if he’ll star in the sequel, but given his frequent discussions about returning to play his character Data, it’d be a shock if he weren’t involved somehow.
