Gene Simmons, god of thunder and now also sunshine and rain, made a surprise appearance at the Fox 11 news station in Los Angeles on Thursday, crashing the local weather report.
The Kiss vocalist and bassist joined meteorologist Adam Krueger to deliver the weekend forecast for his fellow Angelenos, after having appeared on the show to chat about his upcoming solo tour and all things Kiss.
“The weatherman approached me and asked me if I wanted to jump on and do the weather,” Simmons tells Entertainment Weekly. “Of course! But I told him, ‘Hold onto your britches. I’m not your usual weatherman. Weather advisory is in order.'”

Simmons even infused some Kiss lyrics into the report. But before that, some pleasantries were exchanged.
“You look much better in real life than you do on TV,” Simmons told Krueger.
“Oh, you look great in both,” Krueger responded, to which Simmons, decked out in his signature sunglasses, quipped, “I know that.”

From there, the rock star went on to discuss the rainfall across the city. “Lot of rain coming in from the northwest and the southwest,” he said.
But better weather is ahead, including sunny skies after a few days of gloom. “So this weekend it’s looking pretty good if people want to rock and roll all night,” said Krueger, reciting lyrics from the 1975 Kiss classic “Rock and Roll All Nite.”
“They should probably party every day, yeah,” replied Simmons, continuing the lyrics before telling Krueger that he should have a career “in showbiz.”
“You’ve got it,” Simmons said, praising the weatherman. “Lots of it.”

But when Krueger tried concluding the segment, Simmons seemed downcast. “Are you kicking me out?” he asked.
The meteorologist explained that he was being told “to wrap” it up via his tiny earpiece, and then Simmons, interpreting it as “to rap,” started to freestyle. “You go to 7-Eleven, go to heaven…”
Simmons has become a fixture of sorts on local L.A. news. He helped KTLA 5 deliver the weather forecast last year, wearing his sunglasses then, too, and telling viewers to “kiss somebody” before they left home that morning. “The mailman, your beautiful wife — kiss the dog, kiss life.”
Meanwhile, Krueger has become a fixture on social media, having gone viral several times for seamlessly incorporating lyrics from Kendrick Lamar and other artists into his weather reports.
