Kampgrounds of America (KOA) has partnered with CampMap to enhance KOA.com with interactive digital maps. This innovation is designed to improve guest experience by offering dynamic campground navigation.

Following a year-long beta test at select locations, the program is now available to all 500+ KOA campgrounds across North America. The maps allow operators to input photos and detailed information about amenities and individual sites, providing guests with a comprehensive virtual tour before booking.

“My vision for CampMap is to share the maps, services, and data we create to benefit operators, registration platforms, and guests,” said Simon Neal, owner and founder of CampMap.

“KOA is a leader in the outdoor hospitality industry who recognizes the value of our services and is willing to work with us to drive innovation,” Neal added.

The rollout will continue with a phase-two enhancement, scheduled for late March, enabling campers to select and book specific sites directly from the digital map. This feature aims to streamline reservations and boost guest satisfaction.

Nate Thompson, partner of KCN Campgrounds and owner of the Wisconsin Dells KOA Holiday, praised the technology’s impact.

“The map is a giant leap forward from the static pdf option historically available online. It’s a visually appealing and interactive experience for our campers. We look forward to the next scheduled upgrades to the platform which will create a full booking function – this will be a game changer for our business,” he said.

Campgrounds interested in implementing CampMap can expect a four-week onboarding process. Once published, the map automatically synchronizes with KOA.com, ensuring real-time updates without additional effort from operators.

CampMap’s service package also includes ongoing support, covering maintenance, updates, and direct assistance from a CampMap representative. This streamlined process is designed to minimize disruption while maximizing operational efficiency for campground owners.

In the last four years, CampMap has expanded into nine countries, serving a range of properties from small family-owned sites to large resorts with thousands of campsites. The company’s technology aims to reduce costs while enhancing guest experiences across the outdoor hospitality industry.
