The Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park is undergoing a significant upgrade, with renovations expected to be completed by July.

The Kyogle Council is overseeing the project, which is being funded by a $1.8 million grant from the State Government Department of Regional NSW.

Once completed, the park will offer 25 powered caravan sites and 10 unpowered camping sites, with a proposed maximum stay of 28 days, according to a report by IndyNR.

The redevelopment includes new sealed internal roads, improved drainage, upgraded electrical and potable water services, and a new amenities block.

Landscaping enhancements will feature a corridor of native flora, including flame trees, coolamon trees, small acacias, melaleucas, callistemons, and ground covers, providing a more scenic and environmentally friendly setting.

Work is progressing steadily, with water and electricity installations nearing completion. Once these are in place, preparations for internal roads will begin.

Additionally, topsoil will be reapplied across the park to support new grass growth before its reopening. The entrance and exit points have also been widened to enhance visibility and traffic flow around the recreation grounds.

The Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park, located along Summerland Way and adjacent to Fawcett Creek, has long been a destination for travelers exploring the surrounding World Heritage-listed rainforests and national parks

In addition to the caravan and camping sites, the park features two new self-contained tourist cabins, which can accommodate up to three people each, and a refurbished three-bedroom caretaker’s residence that can host up to 10 guests.

A key modernization effort includes the transition to an online booking system, allowing guests to secure accommodations more efficiently while reducing cash transactions.

The park remains pet-friendly and will continue to offer amenities such as free electric barbecues, shaded picnic tables, and a laundry-equipped amenities block.

The revitalization of Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park presents an opportunity for business owners in the outdoor hospitality sector to observe a council-led investment in regional tourism infrastructure.

The incorporation of native landscaping, improved accessibility, and digital booking solutions reflects industry trends toward sustainability and convenience.

As local governments across Australia invest in similar projects, operators may consider how these enhancements contribute to visitor experience and operational efficiency.

“Moving with the times, the Kyogle Gardens Caravan Park is switching to an online booking system which will enable guests to find, book and pay for their accommodation straight away and reduce the handling of cash,” a statement from the project noted.

With the completion date set for July, the upgraded park is expected to attract a steady flow of visitors, reinforcing the role of well-maintained regional caravan parks in supporting local tourism economies.
