Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is expanding its efforts to accommodate the growing number of caravan travelers visiting the region by developing a second caravan park along Lara Beach.

Following the success of the first facility at Konyaaltı Beach, construction of the new site is progressing rapidly in the Güzeloba Neighborhood of the Muratpaşa district.

The Lara Caravan Park is set to provide space for up to 360 caravans, offering essential amenities such as a market, shower and toilet facilities, a cafeteria, children’s playgrounds, and designated wastewater disposal points.

Each parking space will also be equipped with access to electricity and clean water. Located along the coastline, the park aims to improve the experience of caravan travelers by providing a designated, well-equipped space for their vehicles.

According to a report by Railly News, demand for structured caravan accommodations has increased in Antalya, driven by both domestic and international travelers seeking secure and comfortable facilities.

The first park, introduced at Konyaaltı Beach in 2023, received positive feedback from visitors, with many expressing a desire for additional locations.

“It was a solution to a significant problem,” one visitor stated, emphasizing the need for more caravan-friendly infrastructure in the region.

The project aligns with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality’s broader efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure while addressing the challenges associated with unregulated caravan parking.

As the region remains a popular destination for mobile travelers, designated parks can help mitigate congestion and environmental concerns while providing a structured alternative to ad-hoc parking solutions.

With an expected completion before the peak summer season, the Lara Caravan Park is poised to benefit both travelers and local businesses.

Caravan park operators and tourism stakeholders may see increased demand for similar developments, presenting opportunities for investment in structured camping and caravan facilities.

A visitor to the Konyaaltı facility noted, “We were very pleased with the Caravan Park and wanted its number to increase,” reflecting broader interest in expanding such offerings.

By establishing additional infrastructure to support caravan tourism, Antalya continues to position itself as a key destination for mobile travelers while also setting a precedent for structured caravan accommodations in other coastal areas.
