The Staffordshire Tourism Awards have announced the finalists for the “Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year” category, recognizing top outdoor hospitality businesses in the region.
The winner will be revealed during a ceremony on March 20, with the potential to represent Staffordshire at the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in June.
Philip White, cabinet member with responsibility for tourism at Staffordshire County Council, highlighted the significance of the awards in supporting local businesses.
“The tourism awards are all about shining a light on our fantastic hospitality, leisure and tourism businesses and the amazing people working in them,” he said in a report by Stokeon Trent Live.
Among the shortlisted businesses is Hales Hall Caravan & Camping Park in Cheadle, a 16-acre family-run site featuring an on-site bar, restaurant, and fishing facilities.
The park, which overlooks a Grade-II listed stately hall, has built a strong reputation, currently holding a 4-star rating on TripAdvisor.
A past guest described it as a “very pretty campsite with magnificent views,” praising the cleanliness and service provided by the owners and staff.
Also making the shortlist is Quarry Walk Park in Alton, a glamping site offering log cabins and pods, some with hot tubs, positioned near Alton Towers and the Peak District.
The park has accumulated over 400 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, with one guest commending the staff’s hospitality and the park’s peaceful atmosphere. Another highlighted its convenience for family outings, citing attractions like Peak Wildlife Park and Alton Towers.
Secret Cloud House Holidays in Cauldon, an award-winning glamping site specializing in yurt accommodations, is also a finalist.
The retreat is known for its wellness offerings, including private wood-fired hot tubs, a sauna, and massage treatments. A past guest described the stay as “cozy,” with “tasty locally sourced breakfast hampers” and “plenty of logs for the log burner.”
The business has secured a TripAdvisor Hall of Fame Award, demonstrating its strong customer satisfaction and industry recognition.
For outdoor hospitality professionals, inclusion in the Staffordshire Tourism Awards signals not only prestige but also a strategic opportunity for brand visibility and marketing.
Recognition at this level can enhance a park’s credibility and attract both new and repeat visitors, particularly in a competitive market.
With industry trends showing increasing consumer demand for unique, high-quality outdoor stays, finalists have the potential to leverage their nominations to differentiate themselves, drive bookings, and position their brands for long-term growth.
As Staffordshire continues to establish itself as a leading destination for outdoor accommodation, these businesses exemplify the standards and experiences that define the region’s tourism industry.
The results of the awards may further reinforce emerging trends, particularly the rising preference for high-end glamping and nature-focused retreats.
