Summary
- Quality quarterbacks are essential for success in Madden NFL 25, with speed and decision-making being crucial factors.
- Players like Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray stand out for their exceptional speed and skills, making them ideal picks.
- Contracts, salary, and player traits should all be considered when selecting a quarterback in the game.
A quarterback in a football team operates almost like a human brain. Without the brain, it would be impossible to do the simplest things, and football would be pointless without a quarterback. So, the better quarterback a team has, the better it can handle situations, though the brain alone can’t do much, as it needs muscles to execute the plans.

Madden NFL 25: Best Teams To Rebuild In Franchise Mode, Ranked
Take these struggling teams to glory in Madden NFL 25.
So, the crucial part of creating a top-notch team in Madden NFL 25 is to get the best possible quarterback, who is fast enough to decide what needs to be done in the nick of time. Sending accurate passes is one thing, but for running quarterbacks, being fast and agile almost like a bullet is also another factor to consider.
Updated on January 28, 2025, by Mehrdad Khayyat: A quarterback is the beating heart of every team in football, as they are the ones who begin the offensive play, and if they fail in accomplishing their task, it doesn’t even matter how hard other players try.
A speedy quarterback might not be a considerable option for those who always play with passing playbooks, but if the QB is supposed to run with the ball and trick the defenders, then speed, acceleration, and agility all become important factors.
14
Max Duggan
Speed: 88, Balanced Quarterback
Max Duggan is one of those future investments that every Franchise player needs to make. He comes with a mixture of awful and impressive stats all across the board, but he is only 23, which means he has a lot of time to improve and cover his weaknesses in the team.
Even at this age, Max Duggan is extremely fast. He comes with an Acceleration of 88, Toughness of 94, Throw Power of 88, and Ball Career Vision of 82. These stats are top-notch for a young QB that does not have a team. So, it will be quite easy to sign Duggan earlier in the game even with a limited budget.
With all that said, Duggan has a few big shortcomings. His Awareness is 39 and he is an Oblivious QB when it comes to Sense Pressure style. These two are quite dangerous for QB, but as mentioned earlier, there is room for improvement.
13
Jordan Travis
Speed: 88, Scrambling Quarterback
The New York Jets’ young quarterback does come with a not-so-impressive overall rating. However, he offers significant Speed and Agility stats, which are his main strengths among all the other stats. Thanks to these eye-catching stats, Jordan Travis could be a decent dual-threat quarterback to begin with.
His salary is nothing compared to the top-notch quarterbacks, and he can be improved in the Ultimate Team by applying enough consumable items to raise the overall. For Franchise players, however, Travis might not be able viable option in the beginning as he has a 4-year contract in place with the Jets.
12
Desmond Ridder
Speed: 88, Balanced Quarterback
Las Vegas Raiders’ second-best quarterback is indeed the fastest on the team which comes with an excellent Acceleration rating of 91. As a 25-year-old player, Ridders share much better stats compared to Duggan, especially in Awareness (61) and Sense Pressure (Ideal).
Although Ridder is under contract with the Raiders, it will expire after one year, and the Franchise players don’t need to break the bank to sign this QB as the total salary is just less than a million. With a Throw Power of 90 and a Throw-on-the-Run score of 82, Ridder is a brilliant star to consider for the future of the club.
11
Bo Nix
Speed: 88, Balanced Quarterback
Bo Nix is already the best QB of the Broncos and has 4 years left on his contract with the team, but it is not impossible to sign him. He’s just 24 years old and he already has a decent Overall, with impressive stats in Acceleration (90), Throw Power (92), Deep Throw Accuracy (85), and Toughness (96).
Looking at the styles though, Nix might not be an ideal pick with Trigger Happy Sense Pressure and Conservative decision-making. That being said, the player has plenty of room for improving in Awareness stats, though it might not fully change the behavior when under pressure.
10
Josh Allen
Speed: 88, Scrambling Quarterback
Standing right behind Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen is the second-best quarterback in the game when comparing the Overall scores. However, he is not as quick as Jackson, of course. Signing Allen is by no means a viable option for Franchise players, as he has a five-year contract with the Buffalos.
That being said, Josh Allen’s stats are just hard to ignore. With a Throw Power of 99 and a Deep Throw Accuracy of 91, he will always deliver if the receivers do their jobs correctly. The only problem with Allen might be his Paranoid Sense Pressure, which doesn’t give the player enough time before they can throw the ball.
9
Geno Smith
Speed: 89, Balanced Quarterback
Geno Smith might only be slightly faster than Travis, but he does come with better stats overall in the other fields, which makes him a much solid option for every team in the NFL. The overall stat of Smith is 13 units higher than that of Travis, and that difference is also visible in salary, as Smith earns 15 times more than Travis.
Smith is not just a fast player without any other special skills. He also comes with a Throw Power of 88 and a Short Accuracy of 90, which makes him a capable quarterback for passing the ball, besides his excellent ability to play as a running QB. Smith is also an aggressive decision-maker, which makes him more than capable of sending out passes even if he is under heavy pressure.
8
Joshua Dobbs
Speed: 89, Balanced Quarterback
Dobbs comes with an overall rating so close to that of Travis, but he does have some traits that make him a better option. The player’s 89 Speed and 85 Agility send him slightly higher than Travis and Smith when it comes to being fast, but he is better than Travis because he has the Ideal Decision Maker trait.

It’s always a good idea to know what you can do to have an edge in Madden NFL 25, and Franchise has plenty of things to stay on top of.
With only one year of contract in place with the San Francisco 49ers and a salary of $300K, Dobbs is a great steal for any franchise player who is looking for a cheap second or third quarterback on the team. Dobbs has an Average Sense of Pressure, which is not good, but he comes with a significant
7
Jalen Hurts
Speed: 89, Scrambling Quarterback
It didn’t take Jalen Hurts more than a few seasons to show off his incredible skills for the Eagles. Hurts’ performance was satisfying enough that he was offered the most expensive 5-year contract with a no-trade clause in the history of the Eagles back in 2023, which makes him an unobtainable target for the franchise players in Madden 25 in the initial five seasons.
Agility and Short Accuracy are the best stats of Jalen Hurts, but he is also a Superstar X-Factor and he comes with an Ideal Decision Making trait, which is not the best, but still gets the job done for experienced players. His sense of pressure, however, is Paranoid, which is not good enough.
6
Jayden Daniels
Speed: 90, Balanced Quarterback
Another young dual-threat quarterback with impressive stats all around. Jayden Daniels has a Paranoid Sense of Pressure and is a Conservative Decision Maker, both of which are not good, but a quick look at his stats will make the player forget about those weaknesses.

Madden NFL 25: 5 Best Halfbacks, Ranked
When it comes to scoring touchdowns, players are going to need some powerful positions like a halfback to push them to victory.
Putting Speed and Agility aside, which are excellent, Daniels has a Throw Power of 91 which helps him to get a Deep Accuracy of 82 and Mid Accuracy of 85, both of which are pretty good for a quarterback that receives nearly $7 million of salary and is only 23 years old.
5
Malik Willis
Speed: 90, Scrambling Quarterback
Similar to Travis and Dobbs, Willis is also an option that should only be considered as a reserve quarterback on the team, unless the player manages to boost stats by applying consumables. Willis is, of course, significantly faster than Dobbs and Travis, but he is a Conservative Decision Maker, which makes him not a reliable option for passing, especially with a Paranoid Sense of Pressure.
That being said, Willis is still young, and regarding his age and overall rating, he comes with impressive Speed, Agility, and Throw Power stats. For franchise players, however, he might not be a viable option with a 4-year contract. Also, Willis has a salary of over $4 million, which is quite close to that of Daniels, who is younger and more skilled.
4
Anthony Richardson
Speed: 91, Scrambling Quarterback
The youngest quarterback on this list is also one of the best ones. Anthony Richardson is a pure talent and a quick look at his stellar performance last season will declare it clearly. He is the first-ever rookie to score rushing touchdowns as a quarterback in his three initial games in the NFL.
Every player who is looking for a dual-threat quarterback with decent stats all around, high speed, and a reasonable salary, must consider the Colts’ Richardson. He has a 3-year contract in place with the Colts and gets a salary of over $3 million. But that’s nothing for a QB with an Ideal Sense of Pressure and a Speed of 91.
3
Justin Fields
Speed: 92, Scrambling Quarterback
Steelers’ Fields is pretty close to Richardson in almost every stat. He is slightly faster and more agile than Richardson, but he has a Paranoid Sense of Pressure. Fields is a few years older than Richardson, but he is a viable option after the starting season as only one year of his contract remains with Pittsburg.

Madden NFL 25: 5 Best Linebackers, Ranked
Without good linebackers in Madden NFL 25, preventing opponent teams from getting touchdown after touchdown can be quite difficult.
Fields’ Awareness of 60 is a big problem, but with a Throw Power of 91 and a Deep Accuracy of 80, he is still decent at accurately sending passes across the field. With a salary of $3 million, Fields is another cheap option for Franchise players to invest in.
2
Kyler Murray
Speed: 93, Scrambling Quarterback
The No. 1 quarterback at Arizona Cardinals is also the second-best QT in Madden 25 when it comes to speed. Only Lamar Jackson is faster than Murray and it is not by a large margin. Murray is an Ideal Decision Maker which is good, but having a Paranoid Sense of Pressure is a step back.
He comes with a Deep Accuracy of 83, which is impressive, but he has a pretty high salary and a 5-year contract with the Cardinals. Both Jackson and Hurst have way lower salary rates while being Superstars.
1
Lamar Jackson
Speed: 95, Scrambling Quarterback
Not only Jackson is the fastest quarterback in Madden 25, but also he is the second-best quarterback overall, standing behind Mahomes by a tiny margin. Speed is not the only mastered skill for Jackson, as he also has stellar stats for Awareness (98), Short Accuracy (97), and Mid Accuracy (95).
Lamar Jackson is an Aggressive Decision-maker with an Ideal Sense of Pressure, both of which are top-notch traits for a quarterback. His Superstar ability prevents Jackson from getting fumbled with inside the zone. Jackson is undoubtedly the best pick in a fantasy draft for every player.
