With rumors abounding that Strange Academy is set to be adapted into a TV series on Disney+ as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel is debuting a brand-new version of the series to tie in with the fact that Doctor Doom is now the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Universe, as Strange Academy is at least temporarily being re-named DOOM Academy!
Doom Academy #1 comes from writer MacKenzie Cadenhead (making her debut on the Strange Academy property), artist Pasqual Ferry, colorist Edgar Delgado, and letterer Clayton Cowles, and sees the school move from New Orleans all the way to Latveria, where Zoe Laveau, one of the main characters from the original series, is now the lead character as one of the few original students to agree to move to Latveria to attend the new school.

The Fantastic Four Just Gave Doctor Doom Control of the Universe
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next great hero just gave its next big bad everything he needs to remake the world in his own twisted image.
In the preview pages, we see Doctor Doom boldly introduce the school to its new students, and we see Zoe dealing with the uncertainty of her new living arrangements, as well as establishing that not all the original students are going to be in this new series (the creator credits page lists the students who will be carrying over from the original series, including Zoe, the faerie Shaylee, and Calvin Morse, a student who had previously been expelled due to his use of black magic, but had returned to the school after he renounced black magic).
Zoe has a condition where she basically looks like a zombie when she doesn’t use a magical amulet to make her appear human, and she was debating whether to remove the amulet or not when she meets her new roommate, who is a bit standoffish, and Shaylee suggests that she keep the amulet for now.
Zoe’s roommate is doing some spells involving devils, and it seems like Zoe might really have her hands full this semester with Doom Academy.
Doom Academy #1 is out next week.
