Michael B. Jordan is ready to reunite with his Creed III costar Jonathan Majors, even after the embattled actor’s assault conviction.
During a recent chat with GQ, the Sinners star made it clear that he is still in Majors’ corner by voicing support for the actor he starred alongside in the 2023 Rocky sequel.
“I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it,” Jordan said. “I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”
While Jordan avoided directly commenting on Majors’ arrest and eventual conviction, he noted that it was a “tough situation” to watch unfold, but expressed happiness over the fact that Majors is doing much better, having recently gotten engaged to his girlfriend, Meagan Good.
Asked if he would work with Majors again, Jordan answered, “Yes. Yes.”
Majors was found guilty of one count of assault and one count of harassment in December 2023, following a dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The actor did not face prison time for the conviction, but a Manhattan criminal court judge ruled that he must complete a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program. He was also ordered to continue his mental health therapy.

Jordan, who starred in and directed Creed III, spoke highly of Majors ahead of the film’s debut,
“For me as a director, just to have that running mate and scene partner made all the difference in the world,” Jordan said in October 2022, at a press conference for the film. “I think he’s extremely talented. The world is finding out daily how incredible this man is. The work that he does is finally getting the props, you know, the props that it’s due.”
He added, “Jonathan was incredible, man. He showed up every day ready to go to war, ready to work. Me and him bonded in a way that I’ve never had the opportunity to before. This was my first time directing and that relationship between director and actor, I understand that now. It’s a bond that will last forever.”

On the heels of Lovecraft Country, Creed III, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Majors was considered a fast-rising star in 2023, but his ascent came to an abrupt halt when he was arrested that March on strangulation, assault, and harassment charges in connection to an altercation with Jabbari. She claimed that he had twisted her arm, struck her face, and shoved her into a car during a dispute. Jabbari received medical treatment for “minor injuries to her head and neck” at a nearby hospital and was granted a full temporary protection order against him the following month.
Majors filed his own domestic violence complaint against Jabbari three months later, claiming that she had assaulted him. Jabbari was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault and criminal mischief, but the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute the case against Jabbari, citing a lack of prosecutorial merit.

At the time of his arrest, Majors had several promising endeavors on the horizon, including a role as the major antagonist of the next phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, in the wake of his legal woes, the actor was not only dropped by his talent manager and publicist but parted ways with several of those high-profile projects, including the forthcoming Dennis Rodman biopic 48 Hours in Vegas and all future MCU films.
Majors is also the star of Magazine Dreams, a festival circuit darling that garnered rave reviews and early awards buzz in 2023, but was ultimately dropped from the Searchlight release calendar. Following Majors’ conviction, Briarcliff Entertainment acquired the film last year, and it is now slated for a March 21 theatrical release.
When the trailer debuted last week, Jordan supported Majors by resharing the video to his Instagram Stories, commenting two applause emojis and three fire emojis.
