It may have been a tight turnaround, but Saturday Night Live couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take shots at President Donald Trump after his disastrous White House meeting with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy this week.

Not only did last night’s show open with a sketch making fun of the train-wreck sit-down, it also included a surprise cameo from former SNL cast member Mike Myers, who popped up as a chainsaw-wielding Elon Musk.

“Yesterday, President Trump hosted Ukrainian President Zelenskyy at the White House, and it went really, really well,” began the cold open’s narrator. “Everyone who watched felt at ease and thought the world is now a safer place. Here now is a replay of their historic press conference.”

President Trump (James Austin Johnson) then welcomed viewers to the momentous occasion, taking them inside the Oval Office.

“It is I, president and CEO of Gaza Hotel and Casino, Donald Trump, and I’d like to welcome President Zelenskyy here to this incredible trap,” he declared. “It’s going to be a big, beautiful trap, and we’re going to attack him very soon for no reason, right?”

After rambling on for a while, he turned things over to the Ukrainian leader. “President Zelenskyy, you want to say a few words? Maybe tell Mr. Putin how much you love him and that you’re sorry you invaded Russia. Maybe offer him one night with your wife.”

Mikey Day, filling the shoes of a casually dressed Zelenskyy, began to speak but managed to get in only a few words: “Mr. President, with all due respect — ”

“I could jump in here, because that’s how we planned this,” interrupted Vice President J.D. Vance (Bowen Yang). “What happened to ‘thank you’? Remember ‘thank you’? You haven’t said ‘thank you’ to us once the past 15 seconds I’ve been yelling at you! You didn’t say it now, but you didn’t say it now when you walked in here — you didn’t say thank you. You didn’t say anything about us being handsome — ‘Where are my handsome little boys?’ You didn’t ask us that once!”

Trump agreed. “Look, he’s right, and we’re very handsome,” he said. “Our ties are matching, and they’re growing, frankly, by the minute. We don’t even have to dust in here anymore. The ties sweep away the dust, and yet you don’t compliment the ties. You don’t say thank you. You don’t tell us how hot we look. You don’t say, ‘If I was gay, I’d be all over you two.'”

Continuing to berate Zelenskyy, Trump pointed to his choice of clothing. “You’re also — you’re not even wearing a suit. It’s disrespectful. Who shows up to the White House in a T-shirt and jeans like a garbage person?”

Right on cue, Myers entered as Musk, wearing a T-shirt and jeans and brandishing a chainsaw. While Day’s Zelenskyy was reasonably baffled, Trump seemed pleased to see his sidekick.

“We love your outfit. Very official and respectful,” President Trump observed.

Replied Musk, “Thanks. Donald, what are you doing in my office? You know, I’m the president now, right?” Awkward pause. “I’m kidding. I’m kidding,” he added, laughing, and then paused again. “…Maybe not?”

Poking fun at Musk’s recent moves as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Johnson’s Trump said, “They’re doing mass firings in the government. We love mass firings because you don’t have to know what any of their names are or what exactly they do.”

Musk agreed: “I mean, we’re not going to get it perfect, you know? But we are firing the nonessential employees, like air traffic controllers.”

“Sure, some of the planes are going to land upside down,” Trump added. “But then the luggage falls right into your lap and you’re ready to go.”

Before the sketch concluded, Musk announced a new initiative coming from him: the Department of Undoing Child Health Care and Education, otherwise known as DOUCHE.

“DOUCHE is going to be epic,” Myers’ Musk said. “DOUCHE is going to really clean everything out well.”

The sketch came after Trump, Vance, and Zelenskyy met on Feb. 28 at the White House and had an exchange that ultimately devolved into a shouting match as the U.S. president chastised Zelenskyy for being “disrespectful” and not voicing his appreciation for American aid. The heated conversation ended with the Ukrainian leader being asked to leave the White House without him signing a minerals deal that Trump claimed would push Ukraine closer to ending its war with Russia.
