Just as the My Dress-Up Darling anime prepares to return, Fukuda’s manga said goodbye this week following the release of Chapter 115 in Square Enix’s Young Gangan. The conclusion to the seven-year-long serialization attracted a widespread outpouring of love from fans, anime cast members and staff, including director Keisuke Shinohara. “Thank you Fukuda-sensei for completing the serialization of Kisekoi! I still can’t believe Kisekoi is ending. I’m so sad,” he said, promising to ensure he sent Marin and Gojo off properly. “I’ll keep my eyes on Fukuda-sensei’s big back and do my best in the anime production.” The manga was confirmed to receive a side story and epilogue chapter.
Crunchyroll streams My Dress-Up Darling Season 1, whose Blu-ray Volume 1 release received high praise in CBR’s recent limited-edition box set review. The series is among the most popular romance anime on Crunchyroll, where it is officially described: “Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world. That all changes one day, when she shares an unexpected secret with him, and their completely different worlds collide.”
