Netflix has revealed more information about season two of Shane Gillis’ comedy series Tires. The new season will see Vince Vaughn among other guest stars, joining Spider-Man franchise star Thomas Haden Church.

Variety reports that Tires’ second season will include guest stars Ron White, Jon Lovitz, Veronika Slowikowska and Steph Tolev. The season will also include Thomas Hayden Church as Phil, the wealthy father of Gillis’ character of Shane. Details about the guest stars’ roles in the workplace comedy series have yet to be revealed at this time.

Netflix shared a first look at the upcoming season, which includes images of the guest stars in their roles. The second season of Tires does not yet have an exact release date, but it is expected to arrive sometime this year. The first season of the series premiered May 23, 2024 on Netflix.

Tires is a comedy series created by Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben and John McKeever. Gillis and Gerben star in the series alongside a supporting cast that includes Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox and Stavros Halkias. In the series, Gerben’s character of Will manages his family’s struggling auto-repair business, hoping to restore it to its former glory. He’s met with harassment from his obnoxious cousin Shane (Gillis) who undermines his efforts whenever possible.

The six-episode first season of Tires was made independently by Gillis before Netflix acquired distribution rights for the series. The show was renewed for a second season before it even began airing. The news of the series’ renewal came alongside Netflix ordering a stand-up special from Gillis, also set to be released sometime in 2025.

Spider-Man Star Joins Tires Cast in Main Role

When the second season of Tires premieres on Netflix, fans will be able to see Spider-Man star Thomas Haden Church in a main role in the series. His character is described as “wealthy but immature” and a “grown-up version of Shane.” Church is known for his role as Marvel’s Sandman villain in Spider-Man 3 (2007), a role he reprised in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Church is also known for his roles in George of the Jungle, Sideways and Hellboy.

It remains to be seen if Church’s addition to the cast may end up making the series more palatable for critics, who had mixed reviews of Tires‘ first season. Critics claimed the show’s first season was unambitious and uninspired, also citing the show’s tight budget as a reason for it looking “cheap.” Tires has just a 40% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but the show’s audience score is much higher, with an aggregate rating of 87% of audiences enjoying the show. Fans of the show praised the cast’s chemistry and were able to look past the low budget in favor of the show’s raunchy workplace humor.

Season 1 of Tires is now streaming on Netflix.
